Ranking on top but no sales!!

Guys, My URL is on 2nd spot(1st one is yahoo answers) for a keyword which has 880 exact local monthly searches. But I am getting very less hits and not even a single sale yet!

Any help would be highly appreciated

That's normal.

make sure your site has a more catchy title and description as compare to the other results to attract the little traffic your keyword is getting.

maybe 880 is not that much.

880 searches is really low amount.. lets do the maths.. 880 searches, lets say half of them click on your site, so you have 440 visits a month, thats like 15 visits a day. You can hardly expect a sale for such traffic, unless your product is really hot sale

Its a youtube URL and on 2nd sopt since last 2 weeks.

Nothing out of the ordinary. That is a low monthly search amount. Only a very small amount of that traffic might even be interested in buying....of course this varies from keyword to keyword....but that is a low number regardless.

Same applies with MNS (micro niche sites), small traffic but when they do click (thanks to spicing things up with proper SEO) the money jumps quickly.

It may not even have anything to do with your low traffic, but perhaps your landing page had a poor conversion rate?

I have four different landing pages and I have tried them all. Nothing is working till now. I am getting around 10 hop daily!

Yeah honestly, that wont get you much as far as traffic. It also depends though on what they are looking for. it would help if you posted what kind of thing your trying to sell.

10 hops a day will lkely never make a sale. Most products take up to 100+ daily hops to generate 1 sale depending on KW!

Could be the content and keywords? maybe SEO?

MAke sure you check your monthly searches right if ure using Google Keyword tool make sure you select "Exact" to get the "real" amaount of searches according to google

Adding to what other people said above, make sure your keyword is a "buying keyword".
I think for this 880/MS a "buying keyword" is far better.

I agree with the rest 880 is a really low monthly ammount, you shoud find an another keyword with a better search volume.

Are you capturing leads? Are you the affiliate or vender?

Also, don't rely on such a low traffic keyword.. even if it's the money keyword, focus on gaining long tail keywords if possible.. they're more targeted and easier to rank for..

880 searches estimated per month it's around 29 per day.

If you can convert at 1% that means 0,29 conversion per day. So it means you need at least 3 days to get 1 sale, but it's still not enough.


If I remember properly around 30-40% of clicks goes to #1 spot.

The lower spot the lower clicks.

Assuming you are #1 you still need 3-4 times of that to get a sale which turns into 12 days per sale.

What if your salescopy is crap and you convert only at 0.5 % ? Your days per sale becomes 24.
