How do I download a non-youtube video?

Just go download a free version of myscreenrecorder. It will pull anything in a selection box on your screen when you play it. Works really good for me. :)

I get "Access to this media is forbidden" when visiting that page but try JDownloader. It's a really good program that can download many different file types from tons of different sources.

Yep I get the same, where's the original page where the video is embedded? Try it with Google Chrome and look for a free media download extension.

If the site allows the people to get the video from the server but don't give the download link you can get it.
But if the server drop connection if anyone tried to connect you can't get it. Anyway try with DownloadHelper(firefox plugin)

Go download freeware AV Tube, it's good for downloading videos from several well-known sites such as dailymotion, metacafe, vimeo, liveleak, streetfire, godtube, ect.

viewing the page source usually shows a link from where the video is played.

create a html with that link in it and open it and just right-click and 'save link as'

I used to do this for Putlocker and Sockshare back when downloads were only for premium users. I think a lot of sites found a way of fixing this leak somehow tho, but it is always worth a try.
