what should be the layout of eCommerce site to make maximum sales ?

I believe your question is far too broad.

When building an ecommerce site, you must consider a lot of different factors. First of all, have a look at the demographics of your target market (age, gender, etc). Things don't sell in the same manner for a group of 18 year old girls than for a group of 50 year old workmen.

Do a small study on your segment and pinpoint the best strategies by looking at other sites which are actually performing; only then you will be able to devise an appropriate strategy to optimize your sales.

Additionally you may look into magento, a pretty nice ecommerce platform which might give you some useful ideas.

Best of luck!

My target market is youth . So type of layout should i get for site. Can you give me any example of ecommerce site which has good layout.

I've worked on a lot of ecommerce site and to be frank, every store is different, there is no perfect forumla. Like what Reyone suggested, start with magento and setup analytics. Give it 1-2 months, collect the data and analyze your data accordingly. Look at your conversion rate, bounce rate and all others. Study your purchase pattern, abandon cart ratio and more. Ecommerce sites are not something that can be 'perfect' overnight, consumers purchase behavior change overtime. Why do you think Amazon hires so many analyst for this? Look at big successful sites like amazon, zappos and others. Check out what the big guys are doing and start with that.

Don't worry about your layout right now. Just get a site up asap. Layout is a worry for sites that are making money.

Install Wordpress, find an ecommerce theme on ThemeForest (it will be good enough to start), install WooCommerce plugin, get your products in and sell sh#t.

You should be focusing most of your attention on traffic and customer satisfaction. Make money.

Then later reinvest money back into your site for conversion optimization, a/b testing your funnel.
