My Journey to $400/Day - Various Methods

I've been lurking on here for a while, not really posting much because I didn't feel I really had anything to share but, things are starting to change.

I've basically only been dabbling here and there in IM when I was bored but things have changed - we have a baby on it's way - so it's time to pick this s**t up a notch. BTW, I'm kinda in the "grey" with the law so a normal job is not an option at this point so I spend almost all day on here reading/doing.

Here's what I'm working on:

1) A specialty electronics store. It's only made about $400 the past 3 months but considering I've done ZERO promoting except for submitting it to G for indexing (if that counts) I feel it has potential. As far as my supply, I'm searching for the cheapest sellers of the goods I'm looking for on EB*y and drop-shipping. I'LL LIKELY DROP THIS STORE. For now however, I'm allotting 1 hour a week to promote the site.

2) I have 3 small blogs. The first is about a mythical creature. The second is about erm "certain male problems" which you can probably guess and the last is about a sole video game - cheats, videos, walk-throughs, etc. Each blog is currently pulling $0.00 to $0.20 a day via Ads*nse. Each blog is now getting 30 minutes a day allotted for 1-2 posts each + promotion.

3) I have a site for selling books. A book search engine of sorts .. I was making good commission via Ama**n but they didn't seem to like that and accused me of using stolen credit cards to buy items via my links and banned me for life. I did no such thing but they won't listen. It's now tied into CJ but making NOTHING via sales now. I guess people just really liked Ama**n. It does occasionally get an ad click however yielding on average $0.50-$2.50/Click. This is only once every couple weeks though. I'm allotting 1 hour a week to promote/build traffic.

4) A music related fanpage and site. I'm not saying anything more as competition is fierce. I plan on competing with three prime sites that have over 10M combined monthly USERS (not visitors, people that actually log in.) No, it's not CD sales ... These are currently in development and making exactly $0. The site won't be running for 1-2 months.

5) A forum. These aren't your typical forums ... It'll be something of a one of a kind information database tied into PHPBB where users can discuss the information contained in the database/add to it. I'll be documenting things in it that hardly anyone's touched on, on this scale so I won't go into complete specifics right now.I plan to monetize by renting out banner ad space. I expect >1 month before this is finished. Once it's up and running, I'll explain more.

6) I'm creating a site to compliment my in-person/mail marketing of ORM, Web Design, Custom Software, etc. I can code in more than a few different programming languages but programming is something that I enjoy and I really don't want to ruin it by associating it with annoying clients so I'm making exactly $0/month with it and I may just keep it that way if the residual income picks up. If not, I've it on the back-burner for "quick cash."

7) A Bible thumper site... Yep. You can read the bible online, something countless people have done. I've added my own twist however. No earnings yet. Site will be complete in 1-2 weeks.

8) Youtube/Adsense/Clickbank - I download videos. Mhmm ... Mostly videos related to my websites. When I re-upload, if they ARE related to my sites, I link to whichever it may be in the description. If the video is not related to one of my sites, I link to a CB product in the description. The CB thing, I've just started. 31 impressions, no sales. The videos themselves are generating an average of $0.25-$0.40 a day. This is with 140 videos, after 2 weeks. FYI, ANY video that gives the slightest "Third-Party" notice, I delete right away.

9) PPD - Fake keygens/cracks/etc - Custom made. I code them in C++. Over the past 2 days I've made 18. 4 are for games that are already out. 14 are for games/software that have not been released yet (less saturation/thinking ahead.) Of the already released ones, I've had 2 downloads the past 2 days yielding $2.87. I expect this to pick up. I do the typical routine - record a video, upload to YT, link in description, blah blah.


I feel I'm forgetting something but that's enough for now. I've gotta get working here.
I'd say on average (now) I'm making roughly $2/day.
Hardly enough for a cup of coffee.
This doesn't deter me though because it's really only been my laziness holding me back. I didn't get serious about this until a week ago hence why I'm starting this thread now. I plan on spending the next few months, 12 hours minimum a day (minus sunday) cranking out everything I can so we're ready by the time the baby comes. This is simply a "I cannot fail" situation and I work great under pressure.

I'll update whenever there's any significant changes.

I say that one because I just woke up - tired and not thinking - I'm realizing I probably would have been better off to say nothing at all concerning those. The real reason however is because as far as websites are concerned (full blown sites, not little blogs) I won't do it if I can find someone else that is. The ideas I intend on implementing that I cannot yet find other people whom have well, I'd like to keep "mine" for now. It's taken me a loooonnnnggg time to think of anything remotely original.

Too diversified? I wonder this myself. This is part of the reason I may drop the Electronics store and the ORM/etc. I have a very very tight schedule I set for myself in order to be able to work on everything each week. Also in the beginning I had 2 other partners but neither one wanted to get off the damned XBox so now it's just me.

If I get to a point where I'm overwhelmed, I'll outsource. I've a little money I can dump into each project. Not much, but enough to help. I also hate television/etc and usually spend upwards of 16 hours on the computer a day anyway so I'm managing alright so far.

Software Development: > $2K (seems if I were smart, I'd focus on this but I cannot stress how much I do NOT want that) I use Freel****r . com for now, until I'm done designing my site.

My earnings are nothing special at this moment. Again, "laziness" but that'll be changing rather soon.

Really Nice to know that you are doing multi task on single day. But in my opinion you have to test out of the following 9 methods, which one would work better for you. Just concentrate on one method and scale it up rather doing this and that. So that's my 2 cents advice . My congrats in advance for your baby. Cheers.

Yh he should probally focus on 2 methods at once thats what i do and im making around $30 a day with like $15 investment at the start i paid it off in the first day lol

I'm stubborn and I really hate to give up on anything I've been working on. The PPD/Youtube gig does seem to be much easier and faster to make money with. Two days, almost 3 dollars. I mean it's not much but it is much quicker than the adsense sites have been so far. I'm considering possibly scaling it to $100/day itself then picking up on the other projects.

To be honest with myself though, I've never really thought about "just one thing." An Idea pops in my head and I'm like "ooohhhh I gotta buy that site." I suppose I may be further ahead to stick to just one thing at a time.

I'll take a break from everything except Youtube + PPD and Youtube + Clickbank for a week here and see where it goes. You guys are probably right. It would be much less stressful.

what I like the most about this thread is the spirit: it suits me!
I, too, have very little time, and a lot of ideas. Though I'm just starting out, I hope to get to really 'make it' in this industry;

As you said, OP, it's difficult to find good partners: I had 2 up until now: one that was a random guy I met here, and another that was my friend: we had different visions about this: the guy thought working meant spending around an hour a day reading articles ... my friend thought IM meant liking stuff on facebook and tumblr and hanging out with his 'bros' for the rest of the night ...

I don't have a baby on the way (or at least last time I checked ...), but my motivation is coming from the fact that I need to support myself, keep myself in Uni; that's a hell'of a good motivator when you see your friends drive cars you could never afford, to go to clubs you never visited, and buy drink you never tasted ... and that's why I've made up my mind: I'm going to succeed!

It would be great if you could offer as many details as possible about the method that brings you the most income, the fastest; if you don't want to share it publicly, could you write me a PM about it? I'd really appreciate that, since, as I said, I'm just starting out, and there are so many pieces of the puzzle just missing, and they make this whole thing seem such a big, impossible thing to do ...

i too have a few methods that make me money. Best method for making good money is focusing week-by-week on each individual project. So for example maybe you spend this week focusing on ppd only. People become successful because they focus on 1 strategy and specialize in it. By spending a week on each project you become more specialized in that topic.

Rather than try to juggle them all at the same time, I decided to focus 80% time on getting one going first - that being the easiest/quickest to $

My 20% time i spend on developing the other ideas: collecting info/coding/pricing...whatever

That feels like a break and stimulates my interest again.

Have a read of these articles so you can be sure your using your time/skills best. Only you can assess that, but we're often too optimistic - and its better to avoid discouragement by managing expectations of ones performance

Hey bro! To start, you might want to target one method. The saying 'never put all your eggs in one basket' is only true after the first few weeks. Just keep on working, and you will be golden.

So for the time being I've decided to focus on YT + Clickbank and YT + PPD.

I got my first clickbank sale yesterday, $25. I went to scale it up massively but since I use 301 redirects for all of my hoplinks combined with my host having massive issues, I'm no longer getting any hops. Hopefully Bluehost gets their shit together soon.

The one blog about mythical creatures is actually about mermaids. People seem to like to interact with it. I'm still keeping it going for the time being. This is the only blog I'm going to keep working on for now.

Pretty much everything else got put on the back burner as of a couple days ago. I've put more thought into it and I think I would be better off sticking to one at a time. As each on grows, I'll move onto the next. If there's anything important to share, I'll post it on here.



/\ Those are my clickbank stats from yesterday.
I uploaded a bout 30 videos to youtube the night before.
In the descriptions I included my cloaked link.
I added annotations to the videos pointing to the description.

All videos are Stolen. Yes my account will be banned. No I don't care. I'm well versed in code and I'm currently working on creating a little piece of software to automate handling multiple accounts through private proxies so I can scale this up massively. It'll be a week or so before I'm finished though. Until then I've 8 YT accounts.

I'm also doing the Hack/Keygen/Timegen thing for PPD. So far I'm only up to $3.84, I'm not gonna bother posting stats.
So all in all, past three days - almost $30 (a little above 30 if I include residual adsense.)
I must say that although it's a very LOW amount. It's a start and a good reason to stay focused on simply PPD and CB.

Clickbank - No more either BUT..

I purchased 30 private proxies and downloaded a few hundred videos extremely relevant to 6 products I'm promoting the most. I wrote a perl script to copy 8 videos for each product to a directory. Another script renames them for me. I'm uploading a total of 48 videos to each account I make, 1 per proxy (maybe 2 if I use them all before I get more.)
I've done 4 accounts so far. Created, uploaded, tagged, etc..

My hops went from ~10/day to 45 yesterday.
Today I plan on finishing up 8 more accounts, at LEAST. (~400 videos)
