One Big Blog or Small EMD sites?

I have a few EMDs that I use, but buying domains repeatedly gets pricey...I was considering buying one "authority" domain with a brand name, and using all niches I feel aren't searched enough (maybe ~3k exact monthly searches?) and just stick them in the big blog. I'm working with the game cheats/hacks niche. I have about 40 games that aren't searched much per month, so I'm wondering if it would be better to just create a big site.

1. So, should I keep buying EMDs because they're that much easier to rank compared to a page in a blog (not talking Blogger here, I'll buy a .com), or should I just go for the branded authority site?

2. Would the SEO for these games I put in the large site be harder to SEO since they don't have their own, EMD site? Also, when I create Web 2.0s for quality tier 1 backlinks, should I create them for targeting both the home page, AND each individual niche page? For example, for some of the smaller game niches with 1k-2k searches, I could probably create 2-3 Web 2.0s targeting the keyword and be done with it, while constantly sending more backlinks to the home page. Does this build authority?

I would suggest one domain which will be your brand.

Then have (lets just pretend) 4 EMD microsites , and interlink all 5 of them (via articles or blog posts).
Then create tiers and wheels to all domains, but do it over the course of a few weeks.

However this will only work and build authority if you do it properly. Do not expect to slap a few articles and blog posts on all these domains; that are very keyword rich and written by a bunch of indians.

To answer your question, yes one large site will be harder and more time consuming to rank as opposed to several microsites due to the EMD and other factors.

How about both? Design an authority site with 8-10 related niches on an aged domain, each of which could stand on their own as a micro niche site. Do the normal good keyword research, and sound backlink plan. Write at least 10-12 SEO articles for each section, and manually rewrite each article. Put the originals on the authority site, and the rewrites on the MNSs (or vice versa). Bank two times, and call me in the morning.

Auto post it right and use both. scrape scrap post boom but your money site is tier 1 and the lesser tier 2 or 3 etc.

Absolutely, you are right...@ Op, Authority website make people to accept your recommendations...You will have a solid foundation for your products... So, just go with authority website...

with google releasing all of these updates, i would just say go with as many small sites as you can, putting all of your eggs in 1 "authority" basket, can be risky these days

1 Authority Domain is way much better then EMD sites. They tend to get outranked pretty fast.

if all the niches are related go with a big authority site. Also depends the number of keywords you are trying to target. Another thing you can do is play with EMDs and redirects

If you are using any BH method of link building, play safe and go for multiple sites. Otherwise Authority site is better in the long run.

I prefer you do both. If something happens to your single blog, you will lose greatly just like that. Make sure though you only take what you can handle.

As the above people said "authority website".. I agree! but,

How we people name some x site is good authority one ? by checking / predicting its PA / DA right ? An network of blogs with good PA / DA has less value in terms of Page rank, constant SERP, etc, etc.. since they are all expired domain blogs with already existing page authority & domain authority.

So, my answer will also be authority website, But that should have real PA / DA .. i.e non other than guest blogs :bowl:

Authority blog is better. Post more articles with unique, quality content, do some SEO, then you will get more visitors. Other small blogs you can maintain it whenever you have time.

Why fear google

What if your content is 100% unique and you sell your own product? Wouldn't having 1 authority site be more profitable? Since it's a brand I'm building and mainly traffic is word of mouth. (will have paid traffic too as time goes on)

ALTHOUGH, it's possible down the line for the sake of learning and experimenting I figured I'd learn about blackhat related things to make money separate from my MAIN SITE and use lists built up and direct people to my main site. So not only will I learn new ways of making money but all of the traffic I can eventually direct to my main project.
