So, In April of 2013 I decided to test a theory that you should not use forum links directly to your money site.
I bot a fiver gig for 40,000 forum profile links all pointing to the home page of a brand new website.
The website is properly optimized for One Keyword only. The domain name is exact match for the keyword.
Natural rank before forum blast was -100
After the blast, with no other back links built it quickly rose to first page within 2 weeks.
By week 4 it is Position #1.
3 months later it is still position #1
Ahrefs is reporting today almost 12k of these forum links with no other links.
The search term only receives around 300 searches per month, but it is a very well converting niche. I was scared as hell to do this test, but since the site was brand new I thought it would be a perfect test and to date it has no penalties, nor is webmaster tools showing any warning of unnatural linking.
Anyone have any thoughts why this has worked out great?
