What if... I was working for Google Web SPAM team ?

If I was Google, I will make paying an adsense ads as the biggest ranking factor to my own search engine so every seo will use adsense to rank their site and also a big profit for me. :)

If I worked for Google I would implement AI to learn overal user experience/actions and then look for any user who's actions differ the most.

how are you still not getting this ?

SPAM still works if you do it in a new way but yes volume still counts

food for thought: what if you got 30 comment links from the same crappy website but all posted with different proxies and different comments on different days ... does that count as SPAM to Google ? Is it social relevance ? Is it an interesting topic that people there just keep on talking about ? WTF IS IT ?

imo the G algorithm is so vast and with the constant updates it's workload is increased exponentially

hint: search for something on google, remember the time it takes to retrieve your results, note it down. when the next <insert cute & cuddly animal name here> update comes search for it again and compare the results

if the same amount of results is retrieved, in the same time frame, isn't it obvious that the update was just a curtain pulled over your eyes ?

also has anyone recently tried ranking techniques that worked 2-3 years ago ? :)

HAHAHA that's a nice one !

If I was Google, I would monitor Gmail conversations to see who's talking about SEO. Same with Google Analytics. I have access to dozens of sites through my Google/GA account, and if Google was watching this, they could reduce the domain rep of all these domains.

It's actually what the tax administration is doing for very long time. They look at what you buy, what you sell, compare it with all companies in the same area and if your "profile" seems weird, you get a tax control :)

Google is actually like a state, but instead of taxing money, they tax people's content in exchange for a few clicks. At the end of the day, if you lied about the quality of your content, it's like lying about your income, you get spam filters, punishment...
