Long Tail - Case Study

Just ~20/day. I picked 3 keywords (ranking in Top 20) and ordered 5-10 ~300 words long articles for tier 1 on web 2.0 blogs. My team randomly share and like posts manualy from 60 FB/TW/G+ accs.

Been a silent reader to this thread since it posted, you have solid plan in this project. The longer the research, the more significance and worthwhile the result is. Ask fellow BHW member if you get trouble, we also want to see the result. :)
Keep up the good work! cheers :D

I've subscribed to this thread and I hope that would be a +1 motivation for you. Everyone is watching over your results now! :)

lol funny

Too much actually, we are dying from laughing! -.-
@OP I wish you best of luck in your journey and if you don't mind answering, how much on average you spend on off-site SEO ( link building ) per keyword/post/page ?
Thanks.

I've never heard of hirewriters.com before. Are they any good? The low prices kind of makes me think the articles are going to be very cookie cutter.

Looks like an interesting case study. And with good funnelling, you could also get a ton of affiliate sales. How are you planning to monetize this? I find adsense only on authority style sites to be leaving a lot of money on the table.

I see you want to kick in IM but try some tools like smerush and calculate your ROI before to start anything

Great case study as always! :D By the way, I'm new on adsense bussiness model.. I want to know how do you calculate the ROI? Do you have any guidance for that? For example, if I have 10 keywords like this:

- keywords 1 - CPC $1,7 - LMS 500 - GMS 1500
- keywords 2 - CPC $1,3 - LMS 1000 - GMS 2500
- keywords 3 - CPC $2,7 - LMS 300 - GMS 1000
- keywords 4 - CPC $1,1 - LMS 300 - GMS 1200
- keywords 5 - CPC $2,3 - LMS 800 - GMS 2000
- keywords 6 - CPC $1,9 - LMS 300 - GMS 1000
- keywords 7 - CPC $1,4 - LMS 300 - GMS 1000
- keywords 8 - CPC $1,7 - LMS 1000 - GMS 2500
- keywords 9 - CPC $1,2 - LMS 500 - GMS 1800
- keywords 10 - CPC $1,5 - LMS 500 - GMS 2200

How to calculate the ROI?

Thanks danailo, wish u have a great success in this project too.. :D

ROI can be calculated = (Your earning - cost)/Cost

In above case you can estimate how much you can earn from those 10 keywords and calculate your cost and then use above formula. ROI can also be further break down in terms time to see how long it will take you to get your investment back.

Long story short, I've made a mistake ~ 20+ bookmarks on shady websites and 301 redirect from one old domain. And I lost Google's love. After so many years I can tell when one domain isn't doing good. I used link detox and submited some bad backlinks to Google disavow tool. Looks at the results.

This tool is actually working. So if your website is not spamed to death give it a try.

Long tail keywords only generate around 15% of searches and this is down from around 25% in 2007. Google is suggesting searches which is decreasing the number of viable long tail searches, though if you stick up a ton of content you will get some real long tail traffic. Good luck with your case study.

Like they said long tail keyword can only generate around 20% of searches so betetr pick a good one

Interesting case study man. How's your link building strategy gonna be like? Or are you just planning to rank them purely based off On Page SEO + domain authority?

I'll have to disagree. People are getting more "Search" savvy and are actually drilling down to extremely long tails to find what they need. You would not believe some 4-5 word keywords bringing me traffic on one site.

I've verified this trend with a few other webmaster friends. People learned that searching for "computer virus" won't get them the best antivirus software. "Best free antivirus 2013" will get them what they are looking for.

^this.

As a intensive users of google back in the old days, even now, all i can say is that long tail give better infor, while all the short are from big site, they are more like advertising, so yea, long tail is a way to go.

and again good luck dainalo, i followed your other thread, and now so does this one. \m/

Testing out what real FB likes and shares can do to help me with my organic rankings. Spent just ~ $10 and got 130+ likes on my website's post. Look how this boost my rankings just a few hours later:

I know this works for a fact as the most quality content you add, the more Google trusts your site and every other post gets ranked on page 1 or 2 almost instantly after posting (after about 200-300 high quality posts). I usually go for 300-400 posts for my authority sites, but with 500-1000 you'll get real good results I am sure!

How many words do your articles have on avg?
I have tried from 300 to 600 KWs and there are no "visible" results on between them, maybe the competition is tough?

Hi,

nice case study! A question about the FB likes: Did they come from real accounts and within which timeframe have you reached 130?

Hi Danailo

I was considering buying a fiverr gig that would give me 150+ Social Bookmarking Sites links (including the accounts). These where all the usual high PR and well known social bookmarking sites. The seller has ALOT of positive reviews.

I was planning on using this gig to start off my backlinking campaign on a new 2 month old site. From reading what you said above i'm not sure now.

I thought social bookmarks where relatively safe backlinks...

Would you say its safe to use this gig??

thanks in advance
