I feel like a one legged cat trying to bury turds on a frozen pond. It cannot seriously be this hard to figure out how to add rollover effects to text in Flash, can it?

Do I need to convert the text to a movie or a button first? I've seen guys do it with dynamic text, but I'm just a big Flash noob, so I dont know wtf I'm doing.

If anyone knows how to add rollover effects to text, please post or PM me.

If you want to pm me the details I could quickly make it for you and send you the fla file so you could see how its done.

Yay! Thanks for making this forum.

I dunno about CS4 but in CS3 what you can do is make a button. And then create separate text objects for its normal and rollover states.

When you edit a button symbol, you'll see that the timeline has 4 frames, one for normal, rollover, clicking, and I think the hitbox.

Like previous post said you need to create a button, you can convert any image to a button...or text. After that you can double click the button to go into its sublayers. There will be a Down,up,over. You modify the image to look like you want it to for each stage. So if you wanted the button to turn blue when the mouse was over it. You would modify the over button to be blue by fill bucket or photoshop. If you need more then just color change or soemthing you can use the On.MouseOver Function.Same goes for text, if you need any help jet me a pm. Good Luck
