Computer Virus, lol.

I just logged onto my computer to find I had a virus. It wouldnt let me open task manager or internet, but it let me open antivirus programs and the like. I believe I got it from a program I downloaded on here, but I'm not sure which it is because i downloaded a bunch today.

Anyways, it looks like this:


It looks like something someone here would do too, as per the fact that it told me i HAD to do a fileice survey to get rid of it. Then, it told me that it was by Anonymous. The nerve of some people. I opened process hacker, and used Terminator to destroy the process named survey.exe.

Just thought I would let you all know: GET PROCESS HACKER! Its pretty much task manager, except much more powerful and with tons more features!

Sorry I had to rant about this guys, but this kind of thing just annoyed me. Took me a good half an hour to figure it out. Waste of time. And No, i did not do a survey.

Also, the virus was written in vb.net. Thoughts?

why would you assume that it was something someone here would do?
perhaps you visited somewhere else? perhaps somewhere not as clean as BHW?

I meant it looks like something related to IM, because they were using fileice to try to make people fill out surveys.

I haven't used an antivirus in years, I just run all third party software on virtual machines. Easy peezy.

Looks like this has been going around, hopefully the guy who spread the survey-virus-thing is already banned.

Half the viruses I deal with and many people deal with are usually VB NET in my experience - Probably because of the quick and easy GUI designer that is used to fool a lot of people.

Or you could just boot using safemode and delete it with malwarebytes.
