Hi everyone..

I am ranking on the first and second page for yelp and bing with some med/high comp keywords but I am no where to be found in google. I searched for the website and it came up so I don't think they banned me but I am wondering what is happening.

I do pay for adwords and am usually on the first page in ads..is that hurting me?

Is there any kind of google site that tells you your status on google?
thanks

Do "site:domain.com" to see if you're indexed in Google. Most likely you are, not just ranking anywhere.

Running AdWords doesn't have any negative - nor positive - effect for your actual ranking.

You could use Google Webmaster Tools. It could "warn" you if you have unnatural link building.
Adwords will carry no benefits for your SERP (even I could say it's a good waste of money, if you could rank well)

Hi Greyknight, I was just wondering about adwords as i see competitors rank for keywords without promoting them, only thing they do is use adwords. I never tried adwords as I read that its a waste of money, but do you know for sure it doesn't help in the rankings?

I am 100% sure that Google Adwords will not help your website gain ranks.
The goals of Adwords, is to "help" sites get a display on page one.
But most of our aim is to be on page one, without Google Adwords.

Yea there is no connection with adwords here. You have to rank your site with your SEO knowledge.

Google adwords are different, they simply showing your site as an advertisement. Ranking it into google is tougher than bing and any other search engines.

Generally yahoo and bing rankings will increase very fast when compared to google. Start your SEO at this position so that you will also start ranking for google. All the best :)
