Transferring Content To A New Domain?

I currently have two websites, one of them has a lot of content and the other is my new website. I already have content on my new website, but I want to transfer all of my content from my old website to my new one. I'm mainly worried about Google flagging my new domain for duplicate content, because a lot of people have copied my content from my old website.

What would be the best way of going about this?

Good question here. Google does not necessarily "flag" duplicate content. Large blocks of text that rae the same as a source already in Google's index are simply not indexed. So, indirectly that is bad because content you want indexed will not be but Google doesn't actively penalize websites for having duplicate content.

In answer to your question, you should move all of your content to your new domain, remove it from the old one, then redirect traffic to the new domain.

Move the content page by page and redirect page by page, shouldn't be a problem.setting up Google authorship will help.

Depending on objectives you could noindex the old site while move the content to the new site. I'm not an expert but this would seem to work. Anyone have an opinion?

That would work as well. It would act as a fail-safe just in case new URLs were crawled and not indexed because similar content already existed in the index. This strategy would be especially useful if the old site were to remain running right up until the new site went live. Then it would just be a matter of uploading a pre-made .htaccess file, launching the new site, removing the old content and removing the no-index directive from robots.txt in the new root domain's directory.
