Having issues with ranking higher than top 20 google.

Hey there, I have a niche site using a wp platform that gets about 20-40 visitors a day. I know it's not much but it ranks between 21 to 27 on google any one day for that particular keyword and the keywords are also in the url. I put up an article that's relatively coherent about once a day which range from 400-600 words or so.. I tried fiverr to get some traffic to it, and if anything it dropped the site to the low to mid 30's for a week. I have the main page set to a unique hand written article that has about 800 words highlighting what the site is about.

Do you guys have any suggestions on getting it ranked higher?

Go for a lot of social sharing. Your ranking will be up very shortly.

Are you doing any backlink building? If not, try getting some high pr, do follow backlinks and you will definitely see movement

Well like I mentioned..I try to do a 400-600 one daily, and although not consistent, I been plugging at it for about a month and a half.

Haha, alright will do. But getting natural traffic to find my page 3 pages in, I either got to be damn lucky or it is a mistake. I noticed that the keywords that are netting me the fore mentioned 40-50 is not really targeted at the main keyword, but at one of the keywords I happen to keep using in the articles. Every little bit counts and I'll take it

Maybe I'll just set it and forget it for a bit...at what point do you guys let it sit and do it's thing naturally

OP: there's no sense in mindlessly adding content to your site. Google doesn't care how large your site is or how often it's updated. And social signals are a joke.

If you want to get your page to rank you need LINKS. QUALITY LINKS. Period, end of story.

If I visited a site with articles that were 'relatively coherent' I wouldn't stay long.

Spend a little longer in writing your articles and make them engaging. If this means only adding a couple a week so be it. Also make these to target Long Tail KWs rather than just randomly writing them.

I've recent experience that LTKWs can easily rank high on page 1 and bring in traffic and business.

Also how does your site look? If you are happy to put up poor quality content is the design of the site good enough?

Well the relatively coherent articles are a combination of personally writing/tweaking them in combination with getting people to write specific articles for me that I hired from iwriter.com and from other sources. Granted that most of the stuff that I see from iwriter is mostly spun content, I have to go back comb through, do some editing just to have it make grammatical sense. In terms of how does the site look..it looks decent (in my mind), has a paid for premium theme that I used before from another project.

I've had success breaking loose a stuck ranking by expanding the most trafficked pages to be over 2000 words and to be engaging and then to get some social sharing going on. If you have well-written and useful content submitting to an appropriate subreddit would probably help you as well. Also look at the time visitors are spending on your pages as increase time on page seems to help a lot.

Build some white hat backlinks with unique contents. You may go for 1 way backlinks like submit a site to top directories, High PR do-follow social bookmarking sites, article submission, web2.0 creation. But remember use only unique contents.

Hey man, Fiverr is not a ranking strategy. At most it's a tool to use to build all the crappy links to a website that are part of a natural backlink profile, but on their own you won't rank using Fiverr IMO.

Build some quality backlinks. Find them yourself through high PR commenting, use some highly rated BHW threads, buy a couple high end links. Or if you have more time, build a couple web 2.0s (wordpress, tumblr, blogger, squidoo, hubpages, etc.) and link them back to your site. Then build links to those web 2.0s.
