If anyone can help about this
What is main difference between yellowpages and local directories like manta.com?

Why? What possible use could there be in discussing this. Get them both, and move on.

Nigel is correct. Just get them both. If you're working on a local niche work on your reviews also.

Let me explain

I"m offering a local directories submission service.

one of my client ask if I can offer yellowpages submission service too?

I'm a seller and want to know the difference between local directories and yellowpages.

Yellow pages is an international directory that has national and local level subdomains and subfolders that it makes zero effort to rank on.
By submitting to Yellow pages your clients service or site will be (unless they pay for a premium spot) buried in an index (Yellow pages) inside another index (Google)

Local directories vary a LOT. some are genuinely local and may be run or at least sponsored by people like your local Chamber of Commerce. These are decent for Business to Business deals but offer very little if your SEO client is looking to promote to the general public.
Who do you know in the general public who goes online and looks in a local directoy for a service.
I'm in SEO for 16 years and in my time have had dozens of clients. Never had a client or a "client of a client" say they found them in a local directoy EXCEPT "Business to Business"

Again the risk is your client is in a directoy (thye local one) in another directoy (Google)

In both cases you have to get lucky TWICE for the clients service to be chosen by their potential customer

They have to go to Google then CHOOSE the directory your client is in out of all the other search results - then CHOOSE your client instead of all the other services offering the same thing.

So directories have their place in B2B - but for proper general promotion you need your own website and concentrate your marketing and SEO efforts there.

Scritty

Keeping in mind these points what you will suggest me, how can i utilize my team
