Google Authorship - Good, bad and problem with multiple sites?

Hi guys,

I haven't added Google authorship in my sites yet and I'm considering whether it is a good option. Has anyone had experience about whether it is good for SEO? And how should we do it if we have multiple sites? I wouldnt want my face all over my Adsense niche sites.

Any advice would be appreciated!

You can use some cartoon images instead of your real image. I am also using a chinese cartoon character. I do not know about its effect on SEO but it does increases the click through rate and it looks good too in SERPs.

It's suppose to help increase CTR, but I only use on my top sites. The idea is to personalize the listing with your image, so not sure what a cartoon character will do for you. Unless its nicely done I guess.

I use different accounts for each site. I do not want my sites to be linked together with each other.

It definitely increases CTR. Also you'll get a bit lift in SEO.

What if i am a book writer ? I wrote many ebook, so let say i got 10 ebooks with 10 different side with 10 different weekly updated content all under one pen name, should i link to same account or separate?

I would definately do it as a writer. It increases confidence in the product when they see your face in the listing; you look like more of an expert. Do it all under one name.

I'd have to look that up myself TBH. If your using one pen name though, I'd put all your products on one site (you can still have seperate sites for each of the products as well) to take advantage of the authorship.

Pretty sure you just add individual links as a "Contributor To" in Google + and as long as the url's have your rel=author link back to your G+ profile, it'll add authorship.

I'd agree that it would at least look better to have your ebooks listed from one source though.

GA is yet another way of Google to know who is behind the sites that either have adsense on them or are benefiting from free traffic it sends their way. It's all about control. It wants MAX control over the webmaster community. And as such, I recommend to have multiple identities and keep your GA separate for sites in different niche. Same niche, same GA. Different Niche, different GA. Hope I'm clear enough!
