Checking availability of domains in bulk with API?

Hoping to utilize registrars' APIs to check availability of domains in bulk. Can anyone recommend a decent one?

i am not aware of API to exist somewhere.. people just use bots to do whois requests and process the data

I am not aware of any api but you can use networksolutions to check upto 500 domains in a go

There's Namecheap api, and much more.

I've tried to use GET http to scrape the results, but you can't get the results as they're usually obfuscated. Using a bot via the browser does work, but it just plods along.

DomainTools. It isn't free but if current whois information is all you're after then it isn't overly expensive either.

DT looks good. $50 per mth is about average and you get a nice load of stats to boot.

Almost every domain registrar has an api to query domain availability and even register it automatically with payment deducted from preloaded balance or a credit card attached to the account. I prefer both Dynadot.com and Internetbs.net for my domains and they both have API access for their clients.

I use an old Windows program called "Domain Research Tool", which can lookup availability, etc, of tens of thousands of domains at once. I don't think it's been updated since 2010, but it still serves a lot of my needs. Bought it years ago at http://www.domainresearchtool.com Hope that helps..

There are a few APIs out there which let you do this. I'd suggest checking out NameChex. This will do exactly what you're looking for!

Scrapebox is awesome but not very reliable when it comes to checking if domain is avaliable or not. I might be using it wrong but i doubht it after reading many threads about it..
