I cannot get the harvester to work properly. I enter the footprint (using " instead of ') and import a list of keywords. The harvester returns thousands of urls but most of them are not wp blogs. (amazon, digg etc are included in the urls)

Please give the full string you are using ?as it is?. Maybe I will be able to pinpoint the problem.

I get the same problem like you, here the string I use : 'Leave a Reply' 'Name (required)' 'Mail (will not be published) (required)' 'Website' + 'YOUR KEYWORD' -'Verification (needed to reduce spam):' -'Please enter the letter' just like instruction but I put only keyword in keyword list.txt i made. The result very poor from 14k only 10% success rate. The bot actually work good for getting backlink but have the same problem with the import function. Suraj can you please give us example or some screen shoot to do it correctly,thx!

Yep, exactly as above but with " instead of '. i don't use + "your keyword" I import a list of keywords.

As requested by many of you here are the screenshot and results + String used - etc.
Just to check it myself again and give you all an example, I harvested new links (just around 2000 to test) with keyword ‘rss feed'.

And here are my posting results. 61% comments posted, Not bad!

I have used the following string to harvest the URL's
'Leave a Reply' 'Name "(required)"' 'Mail (will not be published) "(required)"' 'Website' + 'rSS feed'
Almost all the blog's are of Wordpress, I checked manually.
Hope it will be of help to all ...​

You did not use the multi keywords import facility. Also, could you post the exact string you used so that we can double check please? Did you use the captcha flter strings?

Wait a minute - you have a mixture of single and double apostrophes. That is not how it is instructed in your manual. Please explain?

Yesterday, only Google and yahoo are working...but today I used it, and only google is working...yahoo stopped work, and live never worked LOL

Is this only in my pc, or nop?

Well, I'll just say my experience with the software..

I used it for 4 days, with about 3k posts everyday (My net sucks), with a rate of 50-60% sucess posts, what means 1.5k real-posts everday...
1.5k x 4 => 6k posts done...

After 1 week (exatly 7 days), my site is with 127 backlinks in Yahoo. I was only with 34 or 35 (I don't remember exatly) backlinks (all coming from my other websites lol). What means...hum...90 backlinks with 4 days of software..
In Big-G, I was with 4 backlinks (from my websites, too), and now I have 34...30 backlinks!

But, well, I'm using it in my PORTUGUESE SITE...so I'm just harvesting portuguese blogs, what means A LOT OF DOUBLE COMMENTS IN THE SAME SITE...well, I think using it in English blogs (1000x more blogs than portuguese), the chances of double-comments are really less...


I'm really happy with the software...my site is now reciving 200 visitors everyday coming from Big-G, and hope this number increases when all the posts with my link will being indexed by Big-G...

I have given URL Harvestor as a freebee and no support was supposed to be given from my side, BUT still I will part with all the knowledge I have and you all may contribute your conclusion/ information also.
It will help as all. There are many other URL Harvestor available free on the net, I recommend you to try them also.

Multi keywords or not the results will be same, believe me. (You have already pointed out that I have shown the exact string used). As this was a sample, I did not use the captcha filter string.

Experiment, read the thread & see others have given there (string used) example also. This one was also a ?try? for me. I would appreciate if any of you will put more inputs/ findings of there own on URL Harvester String handling.

All the three; Google, Yahoo and Live are working, the results depend on the Keyword(s) you are searching for.

another tip:

in the harvester Search String try adding a ~ before your keyword. E.g if you keyword is "Camera" try this:

'Leave a Reply' 'Name "(required)"' 'Mail (will not be published) "(required)"' 'Website' + 'rSS feed' '~camera'

This search string wont only search for blogs with camera, but also all RELATED things to camera like video, photography, brandnames etc.

Works best with very general/broad keywords.

Ok, i did a run on 3000 blogs related to my keyword. UWCS reported a successrate of 61%.

When i manually review some successfully posted blogs there is no comment or "Your comment is awaiting moderation" message. The last one could be because there is no cookie passed, but still when i manually comment on some of those blogs the comment is immediately approved.

Ill see if my backlinks increase after a week. Hope the program is doing what it sais its doing.

I want to buy this but if comments are not getting posted with your bot and are when done manually, why should I bother purchasing this? It could explain why people are getting a few backlinks with hundreds and even thousands of postings. Is't there a simple solution to fixing this? Some how these sites are detecting your bot.

the single quote is the same as a double quote when searching.

With respect, no it isn't. Try it for yourself. As far as I can see, the single quote has no effect at all. Which baffles me even more when I see that the instruction manual has the whole search string in single quotation marks. Was that just a typo Suraj?

Okay, this is what is happening for me as well. Out of 1,000 posts.. I'll get
roughly 7 or 8 successful posts.. and nothing for the rest of the posts.

I can visit the unsuccessful URLs and make a post that is immediately
approved or I get the message "Comment is waiting moderation". Now,
if I did not use a proxy and I posted to these links before, you would think
that it would say that my comment from auto posting is waiting moderation,
but the unsuccessful links say nothing.. as if I've never been there before.

With that said, I've gone back over lists of previously submitted links a few
days later, and none of the links that I submitted that I assumed were waiting
moderation were ever approved, so I don't know if Akismet catches all of
them, or maybe they weren't submitted to the moderator to begin with. You
would think that at least of a few of the normal comments would be approved.

I can understand the frustration...

I already posted that I've bought the program over a week ago. It works like a charm... not hard to use at all. I'd like to maybe see some other people's harvesting strings, but there are some in the thread.

The only question I had, which I didnt see answered was, why does it stop scraping after like 1400 urls? Then if I scrape the same keyword I get different URLs (some the same, but some different) I'd like it to be able to scrape me 10,000 at a time..

But again, it does what its supposed to, works great and I cannot wait for V3 to come out.. that is exciting. Can I make a request? Stop posting and get me V3 quicker! ha!
