How many deals do you close per month?

If you're selling SEO how many new clients do you close per month? I know some people who work at SEO firms close 1 deal per month and some who close 1 per week.

it would be interesting to find out how many deals you guys close, and how you are doing it. Ie, cold calls/networking etc.

You'll be surprised how some of the big SEO firms do it, but they have large paying clients and then different revenue streams to up sell them to, also long term contracts.

Still, we can all sit here and say how bad one close per month is, however I am surprised no one has come forward and said how many deals they or their team close per week/month... Anyone?

it depends if you reached your goal .

if you have a goal of $10k per month and you will close @ 10 sales for $1k per sale or you will close @ 2 sales for $5k per sale.

Absolutely. However, the intention of this post is to find the KPI's of people who are actually selling SEO, which would then lead into the next question, who are the optimal businesses to call etc.

In order for any business to grow successfully, or even just to sustain for a long period it must understand its KPI's. Saying you cannot estimate the figures either means you are not managing your team or yourself properly or do not actively sell day in day out.

I'm not calling you out by the way or am questioning your business acumen I am just making a point so people can see.

For example, if you successfully worked out a lead generation system and recorded its KPI's, and this system won you 100 qualified leads each week, and then each week you/your team called these 100 leads, you can then work out:
-How long on average it takes to close a deal
-The sales cycle
-Appointments closed face to face
-Appointments closed over the phone
-How much research it takes before each call
-How many errors your team make
-If people say no; why and how many say no
etc

From there you can work out how to, and how much to increase your lead generation process to and your sales team to.

Sales people, sales manager must record KPI's. I hope that helps someone somehow.

Hopefully it will be different this month. It would be interesting to know how many deals people actually close per week/month. I found some threads on the warroirforumeek where some folks are getting 2 clients a week, but for web design.

This is actually really good! with the right price point, that's easily 6 figures a year.

If you read the offline section of WarriorForum, you'll find that there are quite a number of people who do this for a living.

In one year you would make $60,000 in set-up fees and then $195,000 from the monthly fee starting over a 12 month period. You would make a cool $255,000 a year, were you saying you can't make a living closing one SEO deal a month?

I sign on 1-5 new clients per month. I upsell them on a variety of IM services.

My SEO firm only works with big deals... some moths we close nothing, but repeating business with large clients that scale with you is my favorite business model; it does require you to really know your stuff though.

Bay Area, and it isn't just in my area where this is done. Go look at the WF Offline section, people are doing it MUCH bigger!

the offline forum is gold. i'm currently doing some cold calling and i learned a lot about sales from there.
