How to cold call abroad?

Hi guys, my first post on this section.


Does anyone have any good methods to cold call UK's Landlines (and maybe mobile phones) from other EU country?

I was looking at skype's 9.89euro/month plain, but it seems like it has some connection fees at 10c/call, which makes cold calling too expensive.

Depends on where you live. Where do you live by the way? I know a provider in my city who provides cheap minutes, but that's only applicable if you are from Kolkata, India. Skype is really costly, and I have seldom seen Call centers using Skype for cold calling...

There are lots of VOIP providers who have cheap international call rates much lower than Skype. The call quality is variable and the rates are prone to changing at short notice but we have had some very cheap rates with pretty good quality.

I am in the UK, so you would have to search for the best providers in your own country, but they are easy to find.

Can you guys recommend skype alternatives? It seems like everyone have connection fees for calls to UK, that range in to 5c$-10c$ which is too much for one cold call.

Are internet providers supposed to offer VOIP calls?
Here at Latvia we actually have top5 fastest internet in Europe, so maybe that is an option, but first time I hear they are supposed to offer VOIP.

Voipwise offers free landline calls to UK I use them a lot and they are good call quality.

For UK mobile I find budgetvoip is the best call quality and offers a call rate of $0.04 USD per min
there is a few VOIP companies that offer $0.01 calls her min but the quality is very bad and not good for making any type of business calls.

If you can get to Romainia or have friends there you can get a Cosmote Romania sim card as they offer what is called on net minutes which can be used for VOIP calls, all you do is set it up with your VOIP device and then you can call all over EU with included min's, for 35 euro per month they have an unlimited plan.

Sometimes those local internet providers provide VOIP minutes, at-least here in Kolkata. I am not sure about your country LOL. They provide DTH, Internet and VOIP Minutes here...

$5.74 to make unlimited landline calls. Most serious businesses have a landline, which means they have an office and not some kid in his basement pretending it all.

Thanks a lot for Voipwise, I tried the 3 free calls, seems like a great service.

They ask me to add 10 credits as a "deposit", is this the way I can call free UK landlines? Or no need to add anything?
