So I got my report back from t0mmy & marrrko on the 3rd of July. I haven't been able to report back until just now as I was at the beach last week and had quite a bit of catching up to do early this week and over the weekend.
Anyway, I'll start with the report.
I received a report of the white hat links these guys and their team generated in the form of an excel file. It's very well laid out and actually has so many types of links contained within it, that they had to provide a table of contents instead of just a list of links.
The table of contents labeled all the types of white hat links (web 2.0 properties, google places, edu & gov blogs, press releases, social bookmarks, facebook posts, twitter tweets just to name a few...if you can believe it, the list of "Types" of links is much longer than that).
At the bottom of the excel file are the different "sheets" of the file with each sheet conveniently labeled with the type of white hat links I'll find within that sheet.
I compiled the list of links into one sheet and in total the list of white hat links these guys generated is 694...yup, 694 white hat links all linking back to my site. My favorite part about all of this, is the sheer diversity of the types of links provided. It's easy for me to fire up scrapebox and get myself a couple hundred thousand backlinks, but they all are from blogs. I'm really pleased with how varied the link types are, as well as the number of them. Big fan of the "social signal" link types that are thrown in as well.
I spot checked probably about 75 of the links provided and found an active link back to my site on roughly 80% of them which is great.
I checked the press releases just because I wanted to see the quality of the articles that were written. While they definitely weren't written by a scholar or anything, they are readable and definitely "indexable" (I checked every press release URL in the report and all were indexed on Google by the time I got around to checking, and I didn't have to do anything to make that happen).
A report of the "black hat" links back to the "white hat" links is not provided, but I'm sure they're working their magic as there would be no shot as many of the "white hat" links that I checked would have been indexed that quickly.
Now, I realize that when purchasing an SEO service, most people could give a damn about how nice the report is...we're not paying for pretty reports
However I felt the need to go over it because I actually value a nicely laid out & organized list of what I paid for. t0mmy & marrrko are definitely true professionals here and from the serp tracking URL I was provided with to keep track of my rankings (very classy touch) all the way down to the nice report, it really shows.
As far as SERP gains go, it's only been 6 days since I received the report, so it's really too soon to tell, however I have seen a notable increase in one of the keywords I gave to these guys.
This particular keyword is a keyword that I have not optimized my site for (yet), but wanted to get a leg up on it when I got around to it. I just checked my rankings, and my rank for this particular keyword went from 75th to 34th (a jump of +41 spots) which is pretty great for a phrase I'm fairly sure is not even mentioned but two times on my entire site.
I'm seeing a few others getting some increases (from 4th to 3rd for one, 19th to 17th for another, 22nd to 20th for another, 7th to 6th for another). What's cool is, I only gave these guys 3 phrases, but all were tightly related to my longtails...I essentially tried to leverage this service as a way to build some authority for my site so that my rankings would also increase for untargeted keywords, which based on the "small gains" I'm seeing for a few of these keywords, it's working.
I'll report back again in a week or so to let everybody know how it's going.
Overall I would definitely recommend these guys. If you look at this thread and a few of their other BST threads, you'll quickly see that you're dealing with adults here...these guys didn't just climb out of the kiddy pool with freshly wet clothes asking for your money so they could get you "some links".
