PRStorm simply visits millions of sites, giving your URL as the Referer. The idea is that some sites out these link to their latest referers and some publish their visitor logs. Since these sites think you referred someone to them, they link to you.

XRumer signs up to millions of forums and creates posts within them.
If you've ever seen someone sign up to a forum, only to make a single spammy post and never come back, this may have been XRumer

LOL.. you got to try it yourself to see if it works!
one very important tip here, there's not point harvesting millions of urls when the percentage of identifying the "ones" with their awstats pages indexed is so small.
the point here is to try to locate sites with their awstats pages indexed and then load up PR Storm to ping them and try to be among the top 20 referrers that show up in their traffic log, which in turn gives you a backlink! now, go and figure out how you can search for sites with indexed awstats pages and if you can, search for the high PR sites..

i am sure you won't get banned for it, if you can get banned for running this software, then you can use this on your competitors too.

This might sound totally stupid but would it not be better to put the URL?S in the referrer list and only your own URL to your website in the URL list, making it look like all those sites are linking to you instead of the other way round? Would this not be better for page rank or even do it both ways. Like I say I?m new to all this just wondered if that would get better results.
