Complete IM noob here. I read the whole thread twice and then realised that I wasn't getting it because I had no familiarity with Pinterest.

Anyone else in my shoes might find Neil Patels guide to Pinterest useful as an introduction from a marketing perspective. Google it, since I don't want him to get any bad black-hat marketing forum vibes (that's how it works right?).

Great method. Here's an idea: when you're pulling recipe images from websites, flip them horizontally, and batch adjust the saturation and exposure up a little if you have Photoshop. It takes no time and it helps ever so slightly..

When your recipes are on the community boards, you want your recipe images to look as attractive/interesting as possible.

I saw one site with a twist: there was an Amaz0n affiliate "store" page which was all cooking gear like pots and pans

Anyone trying this method better hope that the original content creators don't complain to Adsense when they find out you're taking recipes and pics off their websites. Those kind of complaints will get you banned from Adsense.

Good point.

I'm not using this method anymore but I find that when using duplicate content it's best to add value somehow but more importantly look at sites that get away with it and mimic them. Think Digg or Reddit. All they do is repost other's content but no one would ever question their legitimacy. Make your site look like a big, popular site and people are far less likely to complain. A standard WP install probably won't cut it if you go this route.

If you want to go the extra mile then add a voting system for the content, allow users to submit content, and scrape random comments from some place to fake user activity. The more legitimate you look the more you can get away with.

how much pins do you post to earn $30/day?

I was thinking to make a real recipes(or something else) website, with unique content, well to say truth, I have some ideas to get the content very easily. Will google ban me just for getting traffic from pinterest? or they ban only when you use duplicate content?

I'm thinking to make a blog with 1 unique post per day, this means only 1, but unique pin. will this work, or this method is only profitable if using a lot of pins?

You probably won't get much traffic from a single pin unless it's compelling enough and gets a lot of repins. You get traffic from Pinterest by posting volume or from getting lots of repins (organically or engineered).

I should add, I think it's still worthwhile to make a profile for your site and post pins from your site. With original content you should attract a following over time. And as a bonus you'll get a d0follow link to your site in your profile.

As long as this has been posted, I'm curious if the results are fading. After all, a great idea becomes the new default once it's shared. Still an inspiring concept for even doing things the whitehat way.

Twist #1: Take RSS feeds from the original recipe sites and run it through yahoo pipes so it outputs the full recipe+image. If you don't know how to do this search this forum or google. There are tutorials that explain it better than I can. Then take that full rss feed and turn your website into an autoblog using wp-o-matic or another autoblog plugin.

I feel like an idiot, but I can't find any tutorials showing me how to set up a recipe site using yahoo pipes. Can someone please show me the light?
