New Blog, First Post, Whats Next?

So, I started a new blog on Graphic Design niche as I am graphic designer and it would be easy for me to write on these topics. I made it on Wordpress with a custom domain and hosting. I have posted one article on it written by me (original).

Now, I am thinking what should I do now? I am not doing any link building because SEO is very sensitive and I might do it wrong. I wanted to know what should I do now?

I posted article yesterday and there is no visits on my blog yet, I know it will take some time but still what should I do? I want to write one article each week or 2 article each week and want to promote the article every day. Will it be good to promote each article or what? Just tell me, I am complete noob.

You should write more articles so you have at least 10 articles to start with, that way visitors will more likely stay and read more or come back later. A blog with only one post screams low quality/non-authority to readers.

I was just checking out other blogs and found that people's first posts get commented too, so I thought this may be because they start promoting from day of starting their blog.

Yes write more, promote more, get links, optimized pages, social network your ideas, etc, etc, etc... whether you will promot 80% or write 80% depends on your feedback.

I would focus on writing more in the beginning, and simply make sure each of your posts are optimized using an SEO plugin. After a couple months, I would start doing some serious off-page SEO and build links. However, in the beginning maybe I would just build the basic web 2.0 backlinks, from Squidoo, Hubpages, and all the major social media websites. Having a social media presence will help you more in the beginning than link building, at least in my experiences.

Content is the most important aspect at the moment, because without content why would anyone want to stay on the site. Content will give Google a reason to keep crawling your website. Content will give the search engines a reason to rank your website. Do the keyword research if you want, but if you're really passionate about the subject then make your main focus to provide people with good content and use social media marketing to promote it. Then when you decide to build backlinks, it will look natural, because it's more likely people will link to a site with a ton of good content.

Hey, if you don't want to do the technical stuffs in SEO but still you want someone or anyone to comment on your blog posts, after writing them, share the link to graphic designing groups. Join graphic designing groups in google plus or facebook so that you could catch anyone's interest. But as a new blog, you should write daily, but 5 articles within a week will already do.

you can also outsource writing and when you hit 100 articles you would be a real authority
in google's eyes. but as I said do proper keyword research.

My first site was a graphic design site (wayyyyyy back lol). You're a fish out of water here because you're building good content in a niche you care about, but that puts you at a serious advantage. Here social media is your friend. You want to have a facebook page, a twitter account and maybe even a dedicated instagram (screenshots, hashtags).

Now what you don't want to do is worry about going and promoting individual posts. Post each one to your social profiles as they roll out, but other than that leave it alone. What you want to do here is some community outreach with yourself as the brand. There are plenty of graphic design forums, and since you're here I'm assuming you post on them. Put your FB/twitter/whatever links in your sigs. If you can, put your blog link too, but DO NOT EVER choose your own blog link over a social link. When someone connects to your FB page you gain a personal connection and that person will see/like/share all of your future posts. If you were spamming some shit site, I'd say go for the direct blog links, but you're building a brand here.

Also a very very very important word of advice. DO NOT focus on ad revenue. I branched off into building various sites for ad revenue when I made a bit from my labor of love, but I always kept up some sort of involvement in the community. It became programming and SEO instead of design, but that's why I'm still posting here. Over time, even if you don't see a cent, a major opportunity will come when you least expect it, just because you built up your reputation. I didn't go to college and if I want a job I can get 5 six figure offers at the very top web centered companies easily.

I did a pretty detailed post above, but considering what you've got going on I probably wouldn't do many guest posts. If you're in a position to negotiate with another blogger, I'd do a social post for social post kind of deal.

Also, when you're doing your keyword research, check the results. If the first page is full of spam or shitty paid for content, that's a good opportunity for a good tutorial. Even with low domain authority those pages are easy to outrank with some legit metrics.

Also, screen recording and youtube if you're inclined. LOTS of people turn to YT for software tutorials and it's easy to rank.

post 2-3 unique articles per week. if you are spending more time writing than promoting your website maybe you should hire someone to do SEO in your site. writing unique contents and promoting your site using SEO are very important things to attract people to earn money.
