Greetings BHW.
As stated by my join date I've been lurking here for so long that I might be considered a stalker in different circumstances, for this I apologise. I've kept putting this off, but enough's enough, it's time I tried to connect with this wonderful community. I'm sure it would be awesome if I could just blast every subforum I've lurked in with a superb idea of my own, but let's get going with an introduction.
I'm a bit long winded so bear with me. I'm from a small country by the North Sea, just turned 26 and finally graduated from high-school(roflcopters?) a week ago, which I neglected to finish the first time around since I thought it would be wiser to just start working as a sales manager for a small local company(did this for 3-4 years). When the company changed course I figured I'd try something online and made a living playing poker for a while. Then came IM, I'd guess a bit over a year ago.
I started my endeavours online with my brother who I had been playing poker with side-by-side up until then. We were pretty impatient and slightly inflicted with ADD so we dropped poker totally and thought we'd make a fortune with IM since our first contact with this side of the internet was thought WF. You can imagine the dollar signs that popped up in front of our eyes back then. We started off with what seemed to be the simplest things to pull off. The methods that promised the most gain in the shortest amounts of time. Our first method was using paid traffic to work a review blog which sold I guess you can call them "magic beans" to get buff. It flopped, obviously. The method was derived from a WSO actually, the first and last one we bought.
Somehow, through some magic connection WF lead me/us here, this place felt different straight off the bat. Info wasn't locked up anymore. There was so much of it now, so many opportunities, methods and approaches that it made our heads spin. Once we had arrived to where we were meant to be going we tried a lot of different things. Random-junk-offer direct linking with PPC, PPI methods, torrents, one MNS site which I can't even recall getting any traffic to, different blog platforms and clickbank review sites. The only thing that actually made us any money back then was one of Kickapooh's methods. We made a decent buck for about a month and then dropped it for some reason or another. After that we've been on the hunt again, made a couple of bucks with YT+PPD and tumblr, but nothing to write home about.
I've actually been stumbling on a couple of inspirational topics lately. They've kind of made me want to start from scratch since I've learned a lot during the past year, but failed to properly see things through. I'm probably not starting a journey thread right away, but I've got a bit of a gameplan in place which involves an arbitrage site and a bunch of traffic driving methods that I want to try out. It's been a long while since I last worked a 9-5 and I've been making due with some offline temp stuff as well as the complimentary funds that have come through our several pokes at IM. To fund the stuff I have in mind and get myself off the ground for good, start being a responsible adult at last, I'll need to get into freelancing. I've done a bit of content writing, have some very basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Visual Basic and WP. I've probably had a run-in with a bunch of other platforms and tools, but nothing extensive. I would really appreciate some tips from anyone who started off as a freelancer and mayhaps is still doing some of it now.
Also, a huge thanks to the contributors here and the people managing this place. These are wonderful grounds for growing and learning in the business world. I'll surely become a contributing member, hopefully sooner rather than later.
Kanpai!
