You people are scaring me!

Heres the quickest way..Do a manual check.

If you have found 2-3 Keywords that you are confident you can put together good content on then check those Keywords in google and use your own eyes to weigh up the opposition.

If you see 3-4 pages of high Authority Gaming Forums/Magazines/Review sites then yes you are looking at climbing a big mountain. Unless you are sure you can put something fantastic together then It will take a budget to climb that big mountain.

Mincecraft is an open source game. Theres hundreds of thousands of people worldwide who dedicate several hours of their day to add free content and put incredibly detailed maps on youtube etc.

Sorry If I am scaring you more but anything to do with that game will be unbelievably hard to rank for.

If your not ready to shoot for the big keywords don't! Just try out the waters with some small keywords then dive in balls deep in a big keyword!

I dropped $150 2 weeks ago on a video and managed to rank it for a large yt kw with 12million other results (50k monthly searches on YouTube alone), sure it was tough but once you have the method down pat you simply repeat the process for each video/keyword.

Just remember the golden rule to all of Internet Marketing: Split Test Everything

Thanks. After reading all the responses, this is what I am probably going to do.

No you are not scaring me, you just are not describing what I want to do. I am not interested in driving traffic to a website. i am not an affiliate marketer.

I make entertainment videos. I simply want allot of views on YT to make money from the ads that appear in the video. I dont really care about being on first page of Google. My audience does not search there.

google/youtube same thing...only you tube is harder !

Everythings possible so go for it......just be aware of the competition on minecraft keywords.

Good luck

Thanks. Do you know if backlinks have weight to YT search engine? How much weight?

I think you don't have any/much idea about YT SEO, but one thing is really admirable about you -- you ask great questions on the topic. :)

Ok. I did some further checking. There are some three work phrases I might be able to donimate. I did not find them before.

This gives me hope.

Thanks man!

Ok now try to rank on that keyword
as far as i know ,You will rank better on main keyword once you rank on low search similar keyword

i even suggest you to make youtube videos and few blogs on blogger (they rank faster than normal sites....) linking back to your main site
lastly G+ does help

sometimes i ask questions as if i dont know just to see if what know is right. but in this case, i am not experienced a YT seo. thanks for your help. i really need it.

I was pretty sure I knew your keywords as soon as you told me the search volume was exact. Normally I wouldn't mention anything since I would not want others to notice the niche but you've mentioned Minecraft twice. Assuming we are talking about the same keywords I'll tell you my experience from it. This might not be your experience but it might help you decide if you want to invest the time into it.

This was 3 weeks after backlinking started. In another 3 weeks or so I was first for all (can't find a screenshot). The exact search volume is in the millions. I was also first for other keywords (think 8 in total) but didn't track them. It's definitely not impossible to rank for.

You can make a lot of money if you have good conversions but after testing so many different ways over months I could never get them good (maybe you can), take a look at the top two. 3% and 7% :( compared to another site I have in gaming, 19%. No matter what I did I could never get it to 20%. I was using 5 or 6 cpa companies running different campaigns, I've only posted 2 from 1 day. I know I was getting more than 10k clicks on my cpa offers a day but I think no more than 15k.

This is assuming we're talking about the same keywords. The competition acts very childish.

I so appreciate your post. I cant tell you how much it means to me for you to take the time.

BUT, I am not an affiliate marketer. I have no offer to sell except the music that I make which is in the videos I make.

I am ONLY only interested in lots of views. Nothing more. But it looks like you got allot for some minecraft keywords, right? So that is a positive.

I prefer to rank niche keywords, which i thnk is high cost effective

If you're just after (legit) views, then I think ranking isn't that important. I had several videos of mine ranked at 1st or second and STILL didn't get a lot of views. You got to build an audience (real subscribers) that watch your videos, there's no way around it. You can't live on search engine views alone.

Great point and I agree.

My content is strictly entertainment so the content has to be good. I understand that and i am working hard on that. but if i am buried in the search results to begin with, then no one will see my great entertainment in the first place. Right? or wrong?

That's right, but judging from my experiences, you're not gaining viewers for playthroughs via search results. You gotta make yourself known in forums or commenting on other peoples vids. Like I said, I had a few vids of very popular mainstream games ranked on #1 and still no substantial views. Once I started promoting myself by other means things changed (a bit).

well, i think you are right, but being on the first page of a YT for a high keyword would not hurt. Maybe your content was not good so they did not watch it again. :p

You think minecraft can make you millions? What are you smoking

Compared to the real world it's pretty fucking easy in my opinion to make money doing nothing
