Confirmed. But I would suggest to go for only 1 site for better effects. Ranking in that niche needs high number of backlinks.

Inner pages are definitely useless. Its as good as flushing your money down the drain. With a lot of them you might get slight improvement if you buy the homepage links instead the results would be significant.

Only because they have good PR and cost less it doesn't make them an ideal choice for your backlinks

Does this mean all links you build are from home page only?
