Who is Making Real Money?

"That" (whichever that maybe) program may be a scam, but

"Robots" are not illegal.

As a matter of fact most large financial institutions use "automated trading systems" which trade on various market conditions, stock prices and such. They are "completely" hands off as far as the trade goes.

Imagine algorythms as or more complex than Google's ranking code.

I use something called "MetaStock" by Equis but only end-of-day.

Trading, be it futures, stocks or bonds can be automated as long as the individual does not muck around with the science.

What you call robots, in the industry is called "technical trading", verses the traditional or "fundamental trading".

An excellent resource is "Technical analysis from A to Z" by Steven Achelis.

I find that the learning curve of Forex trading is too steep unless you're going to focus all your time on making $ from forex.

Hi guys, my first post here, awesome site .
About forex, i have been involved with it for some time. It is addictive and can be very very profitable ......ON PAPER.
In reality it is very tough and very risky. You need to start with big bucks to make big bucks, this hype of "turn 300$into 30,000$" that we see at all the "forex mentor/training" sites is BS.
It is a very demanding profession, both time wise and pshycologically. plus there are too many variables that can suddenly turn a trade around. i would suggest 10dont bother with it. 2) if you must then go to a free and good resource site like forexfactorydotcom and read up the beginners section and especially the money mangement section. Only then should you proceed. Money mangement is the key not some lame ass indicator like 50SMA or 3sma crossing the 25 EMA etc.
take care and best of luck.

Guru.

You become a guru when you stop reading their shit... and come up with your own shit and a way to distribute it.

I couldnt have said it better myself.

4-5 hours a day, 5-6 days a week for half a year of one outright push to get your own guru-site up, and you'll have a minimum of at least $10000, if your only a wee bit smart. But, that cash is almost a complete guarantee with that amount invested time. Its gotta be hard work though, but it'll be worth it in the end.

I trade forex and it's not easy at all. First, you do need to have a system of rules and you need to stick to them. It's taken me years of trying different systems to find one that fits when I want to be looking at the computer and how much I am willing to risk. Now that I have what I want system-wise, it's just a matter of time before I can have a nice monthly income. You see, the larger your account is, the less risk you have to take to get good safe money. This hurts most those who can least afford it. The market teaches many lessons.

If you think you want to learn, it's not so difficult to get started. Just take one of the simple systems, like the Day Trade FPS
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/84377782/advanced.zip
Start at the beginning and take it step by step. Once you begin to understand what is in these two reports, you can begin to explore other systems and find what works for you. You don't have to risk a lot of money to begin. Oanda will let you trade for as little as a few dollars and most brokers have practice accounts.

Don't be afraid of it.

like nephalim said the bigger your account the less you have to risk to make more money. It is the little guy with 1000 dollars, that enters this game thinking of striking gold based on hyped up systems that suffers the most. The leveraging kills you, and over time a vast majority fail. So the thing is to learn the rules, read up on the psychology bit and Money management and then risk no more than 1-2% per trade. the problem is that with a small acoount there really is no quick cash and that prompts newbees to play it risky. this coupled with the damn brokers ensures that the odds are really stacked against you. The easiest part is to buy a system, they are a dime a dozen. Concentrate on the basics and you will have a chance. jump staright into the big game and things can be dangerous
Best of luck

You mentioned it in your post and answered it yourself.

Marketing is when:

You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say, "I'm fantastic in bed."

started about one week ago, at just over $100 now.

stock market ...ugh

i was one of the winners until the dot com crash 2001/2002, made from 10k which i got from my grandma within 3 years up to 150k+ on european stock markets. was also day trading for a short time but at this time the weekly success was so high even without it. unfortunately dot com crash came and due to this huge crash and a mistake by myself i lost over 70% in just one day, at the end of the crash week i was sitting with my 10k again and europ had not any protection law against so much fraud happened on the market, so only in the states some group were successfull and got a part of the investment back. But those 3 years were the most exciting years in my life. I was so far that only a tiny more kick with the stocks and i would have made a fortune, was a journay from earth to moon and back...but shit happens in life.

Marketing is having to wash some garish-coloured girl's fashion drink out from one of your good shirts?

I don't think so dude. Not even close.

You mentioned it in your post and answered it yourself.

Aha - philosophy finally makes an appearance.

Perhaps you are correct about the nature of big business capitalizing on the wants and needs of the little guy. That is probably quite true. However, it would be as wrong to blame a "guru" for doing what they do, as it would be to blame a sheep for following something.

The question here is one of what separates average ordinary people from other people who achieve certain standards of wealth or success. And the answer to that is simply perspective.

It is how one sees the world that shapes ones actions in the world. Any of us could copy the actions of successful people, and duplicate their success until we get caught in the trap of remembering all the reasons we can't do it.

What separates the classes is self-imposed limitations, and a certain lack of perspective. I'm trying to see the world a little differently. I think it's working. :)

The "gurus" have lists of suckers.

If the "gurus" make big money it is by selling false hope to mugs who hope to make a few dollars.

I agree with Davers.

your online success or lack of it is all YOUR OWN responsibility.

yeah, there some so-called "gurus" out there that scam people and make a killing doing it. although this is wrong in my book, it's not to the guys that're doing it. and when it comes down to it, they are still making money and are successful at what they do.

my point is instead of complaining about what others are doing to make their money, why not take action and go out and make your own money? if you don't like what they are doing for their cash, then simply don't do it. make your money another way. prove to yourself that you can make your own success story and then go from there.

just my 2 cents

Good friend of mine just launched a product last week did 100k in volume just 1 day. The internet is endless with money even in a recession skys the limit.

meh...
my plan is way easier than actually doing something.
Ready everybody?

Let's all do this together!

1. Identify people who could be argued are doing something 'in bad faith'.(Doesn't have to be everything they are doing, just one step in their business is enough).
2. Point the finger (the more futile and whiny the method the better) complain out loud to people, as if they don't already have plenty to deal with in their own lives, that what these ppl do is despicable and that they merely take advantage of ppl etc.

Explanation - Why this works
The purpose this serves is twofold:

a) It makes you feel better by being able to displace your attention from your business (or the increasingly embarrasing lack of it) to someone elses and allows you free reign to criticise. Criticising others is rarely unpleasant and can be quite addictive.

b) If we identify those who succeed despite behaving in a way that can be seen to be despicable, we can argue that success depends on lowering one's standards: implying that for us to succeed is asking us to be similarly despicable.
This allows us to call on the scapegoat of righteousness (just another excuse). Since we are such principled and good people we cannot be successful now can we?

Go back to step 1.
Repeat until old, senile and way past sell by date.

Unfortunately by being a critic of this behaviour I have myself become a critic.

Oh irony, will you never let me be...

Oh and if this seems too much like hard work, then I agree for your type everything is which is why I have come up with 'Outsourced whining club'.
