Does this exist, I figure the more likes on the status the more reach facebook gives the post. So why not have a method of putting a lot of likes on there to begin with?

Likes and comments does not bump your post. Only "share" does. Facebook measures the importance of your post by the number of share it has.

do what i do, i use addmefast to give 20 likes, and people see that it has likes so they give likes.

Are you positive? My posts with a lot of likes always seems to have more of a reach and if this is a case should I just make people share it?

Yes, Facebook gives more priority for "shares" than "likes". When people "share" a post, they're increasing the viral reach of this activity, so It will become naturally more popular.
