I'm sure this has been discussed here, but maybe we can revisit it.

When promoting feeder sites/blogs you can quickly generate anchor text backlinks using type.pad comments.

Here are the steps:

1. Search for type.pad blogs on google. Just search for some text like this:
"If you have a TypeKey"
or
"If you have a TypeKey identity, you can sign in to use it here."

2. Next go to that blog and make a comment. Add your feeder site url and anchor text.

3. Set the firefox Web Developer plugin:
Forms > Convert form method > convert POSTS to GETS

4. Preview the comment
5. Copy the preview URL.
6. Promote the preview URL via your usual backlink methods.

Here is an example:

typepad.com/t/comments?entry_id=45413948&user_id=6090&author=anchor+text&email=jon%40jon.com&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmysite.com&text=not+important&preview=%A0Preview

The good thing is this can be automated easily. With a bit of thought you can create a spreadsheet that generates the blog urls and all necessary data automatically. So no need to do a google search.

The downside is that these links are no follow, so they only count on yahoo/msn.

I didn't understand it. Can you please give an example. Will we post the data or just send a backlink?

Basically you are creating the effect that you have an actual page with a backlink on. However the page does not really exist because you do not actually SUBMIT it. But the "non-real" url can be spidered by the SE's.

This url is an actual example:

typepad.com/t/comments?entry_id=45413948&user_id=6090&author=anchor+text&email=jon%40jon.com&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmysite.com&text=not+important&preview=%A0Preview

Just remove the spaces from the word "anchor" and the word mysite. I can't post urls yet!

Nice... nice one. I checked and the 'Posted by' link is nofollow tho. Still, a link with nofollow is better than no link :)

Question -- this can be extended to previews of any blog comment, yes? :)

Yes, they stuck a no follow in there. That sucks but google's not the only game yet! Anyway, I have not tested the Post to Get with any other hosted blog service like wordpress. So it may or may not work.

But, the beauty of this is that all type..pad blogs have a specific number so just create an excel spreadsheet that guess a random string for that part of the url. So you don't really have to go manually searching for blogs.

I have an excel file around somewhere I will try to find it.

Does it work for creating preview URLs on other blogging services e.g. wordpress URLs? If yes, I can supply a huge list of WP blogs...

It requires a preview option as the preview is the actual url that you use. Most WP blogs don't have a preview option although there is a plugin that will add a comment preview function to wordpress.

OK, I found the excel file I created a while back. It generates the necessary urls for you automatically.

I'm trying to get to 15 posts so I can post the download url!

Yes I will but I can't post urls until I hit 15 posts.
