Any app/script to make facebook run faster?

Hello,

This isn't necessarily blackhat or related to IM. What I'm looking for is for an app or script (whether stand-alone or Greasemonkey code) that will make facebook run faster and consume less resources. Every time I'm browsing I'm forced to close facebook when I'm not using it because it slows down my machine worse than Flash. Any reccomendations?

Installing an App will only add overhead to your browser. Modern Javascript based apps have a lot of processing goiing on inside, so you want to decrease the overhead and not increase it. It might be the time to increase the RAM for your computer. If you already have lots of RAM (over 8GB and so on), then start task manager, and give the browser highest priority (caution! it can crash your computer if you have limited resources)..

Also, disable all the unnecessary apps from your browser instead of installing more...

1) A differnet user agent, like android or ios, and browse with the mobile version of FB (without chat and other features).
2) Social Fixer which is a Greasemonkey script.

+1 for the point number 1 by the way. It's a smart idea to do that. Use any of the user agent switcher app available for the browsers...

No, I think it's a problem with the way it's coded.

Are you kidding me? They are one of the best and tightly packed site, which delivers content with minimal resources. They made a convertor which converts PHP to C for faster execution, and made it open source too.

Well, FB maybe slow, you can blame it on their server, but please dont blame their coding and techniques.

Facebook has been slow for me lately as well, too much happening all at once, especially if you have a lot of friends, all those notifications require a bunch of javascript running in the background. Granted my PC isn't the dream gaming station but you're not the first to mention how heavy FB is on the client.
