Emailing free ebook, dangerous or not?

Hello, I am trying to harvest a list of emails to send my free ebook to. No commercial things are added in the email nor ebook. Would this be dangerous breaking the spam law? Any suggestions?

Yes, this would be classified as spam - you cannot email anyone who hasn't opted in to your list.

Yeah this is called as spamming. But still you can do it without facing any problem. Contact some email marketing service provider here. Give you content and email ID's they will send it from untraceable IP address.(hope your email don't have your contact information). If you have limited budget. Then there are few email software's shared here search for it and use it.

Well, i thought this 'free ebook' marketing is suppose to get people to read, then get them interested, then come back to contact you. So your REAL contact info got to appear somewhere? If so... then its not really untraceable?

I am using Sendy in combination with SES. No problems so far. If they do know my real name (a subscribe link and post address have been added to every email) I don't care. The eBook is a representation of our non-profit website. Many of them replied thankful.

The eBook is a charity project I have been working for like 2 years. I would like to share my knowledge with other people.

We do not offer commercial products on the website, it's non-profit based. This is a charity eBook, so no commercial intention to make any profits.

Ideally it would be considered spamming. however you wont get into trouble if you do it. You should use some free email marketing softwares and that should solve your purpose.
