Can we stop these motherfucking rep threads, PLEASE???

Agree with you OP

this thing is discussed several times already , but problem is how to handle that fucking issue...

Mods are already super busy , they are not able to track all the reps given in a day and judge if rep given is right or wrong ...

Any idea how to control it ?

Actually I posted a "possible" solution in another rep thread -a thread which was deleted,
so I guess maybe members didn't get a chance to voice their opinion on it,
however this current thread of bk071 seems to be more viable, so here goes with my suggestion....

FACTS:

1). Many members are actually getting pissed off with these discussions about reps etc...
2). We all acknowledge that the Mods do an excellent job in BHW, and are too busy with other - more meaningful - matters.
3). Having a gigantic +rep does in fact give the impression (whether deserved or not) of a much higher percieved value.
4). The majority of posters in this thread have medium to large +reps.
5). Most members here appreciate the sense of belonging to a community.
6). The lounge accommodates social interaction via posts and light hearted and often very witty posts/threads.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION?

So, to alleviate this seemingly constant barrage of reps threads,
I suggest we change the system of giving reps in the lounge.

Instead of giving a +rep or -rep, we could give a "Like" or "Unlike",
and have those Like and Unlikes accumulated and associated with a particular member,
alongside the number of posts, reputation etc...

This would allow ALL members to quickly view the net worth (or BHW SEO value) of a member,
by simply percieving that member to be a valuable contributor to this wonderful forum... by gaining high +reps,
and
at the same time, percieving a member who perhaps invests his/her time by using the lounge as a social feature.... by gaining Likes.

I am not a techie, but I believe this to be quite eay to create, and I am sure there are many technically qualified members in BHW
who could easily add this feature.

So, there you have it, this is my contribution to this thread, and I look forward to honest and progressive replies.

Thanks

that could possibly solve the problem but then you're going to have clowns crying about how no one likes their posts or gives them too many unlikes

Yes indeed, however, my entire thrust in the post above is to only do this in the Lounge, for example
Lounge Likes
:yeah::yeah::yeah:

and
:beat4:
Lounge Dislikes
:postcrisi:postcrisi:bsflag:

Are you sure you don't? :D
i have alomost 3k rep and i dont care jack crap about it.
i only care my customers are happy, the rest is immaterial

I don't expect the world (or forum) to change for the sake of my sanity. If something makes me "mad" I just avoid it. I don't expect the world to change to keep angering things out of my sight.

OP find out what draws you to posts you don't like and fix it. You control what you view and how you feel. Don't involve others in issues you can control.

Personally I like threads where we pat each other on the back and say good job. It sure as hell beats all the "screw you" threads I've seen lately. I think the amount of infighting has doubled in the last couple months. Of course I only speak of my observation and won't include the community in my opinion. I (with a capital I) think everyone should lighten up and keep some of your negative comments to yourself.

Yes but Y no Boobs?

Anyone else want boobs?

So are we going to see those threads every day?:)

netmoney1, now you can see what i mean. Want to change things in life? Be the first one who does the first step. Be creative, dont copy threads only because you know they will be viral.
