I got all 400 of my domains appraised... Some were between $60-$150 some were 150-400 and some were 500+ (the highest was $3500)... How do they appraise these names so fast and what factors are involved when appraising a domain? I am trying to find legit answers so I can better understand this. Thank you guys!

all apraisals imo are a scheme to get your money, there is only one way to know the value of a domain and that is to sell it and see the offers you get, there are of course some pointers like past sales of similar domains among other things.
all automatic apraisal systems are based on keywords, extention, some use domain age and some use a random factor and personal twists.

A domain is as valuable as what someone is willing to pay for it. It is that simple. Any auto appraisal is not 100% accurate as they only look at age, traffic, keywords-against popular searches and extension. Maybe against similar domains that sold as well.

example: facebook domain is worth billions
Ask in 2000? Reg fee

I paid 10,000$ for a domain (no content) that was registered in 1996 and godaddy's appraisal says: $ 1,700 USD. But I really wanted the domain and the owner didn't want to sell it :)

If you find the right buyer almost any domain can be worth big money!
Automatic appraisal sites simply take in consideration the length of the domain, the characters, words and tld then they blindly evaluate it.

As Fateless said the only right appraisal is the one you've sold it for.
Seeing as you've got a 400+ domain portfolio I'm sure you know much more than me on this issue but try selling them to the right buyer :)

Quite curious, what was the domain? Thats a nice chunk of change, did you develop it? i'd love to see. Thanks man, appreciate the advice.
