25.000 Links Vanished Overnight from Google Webmaster Tools

Today, I checked my site in webmaster tools and saw that most of my links (25.000) disappeared.

Most of these links are obtained from purchasing sitewide links on high pr websites.

I was expecting the number of links to go up as I bought more sitewide links recently on websites that have thousands of pages.

But it seems that the opposite is happening.

The important thing is that my rankings have not changed but this is alarming.

Has anyone experienced this before?

There is a bug in GWT lately which affects the backlinks shown, ie its not the correct number. Just chill out and use AHREFS, MajesticSEO or Bing Webmaster Tools if you really wanna see BLs.

Yeah, all these tools give me more accurate stats of my links.

But I was waiting to see the effect of the links I have built and I thought that this effect will take place when I see those links in the Webmaster Tools dashboard.

You can't really know as Google probaly have an implented random delay of links effect.
