My site just got hit!

Hello fellow bhw members!

I really need some help and I hope some of you could possibly help me out! My website got hit today on 2 main keywords, I have fallen 300 spots in rankings from page 1! I suspect the reason I got hit is over-optimization for these 2 specific keywords since all my other keywords are going steady.

I was hoping someone could give me some tips on how to recover from the hit, will making a link building campaign with diversified keywords recover my website? or do I need to do something else?

How old is your website and what was the previous link structure like?

I just got hit about a week back and im already seeing a rise in rankings after some dedicated seo work. My site is about 2 years old and have been doing standard tier 1 web 2.0, tier 2 social bookmarks, wikis and tier 3 commenting.

I also think you can try kimi 2013 link method just search for the latest started threads by kimi and you will find it.
That was what my link structure was based upon.

it could be a dance! Read over the tuts that were already posted, revise your backlink building strategy and give it atleast few days before you start taking some measures!

Yes that might be over-optimation of those keywords. What percentage of anchor text distritbution did you use? Next time I suggest you to research more about this specific thing, as this is one of the most easiest penalties to avoid regarding the penguin.

If you can change anchor text of some of the links pointing to the relevant pages, I would do that make it more generic i.e click here, blog post, here etc.

it could take a while before you can rank it back, get another domain, or start fixing your links and replace them with new better ones.

Thanks everyone who helped! I have access to a small portion of my backlink profile details, I will change some of the anchor text there. I am also making a senuke campaign spreaded 14 or 21 days with general keywords/niche related keywords. Is this a good way to recover?

I can't start over since the website is established and I got some returning-customers that I would really hate to lose.

my guess is if you check your WMT you'll likely find a lot of your link domains disappeared..

What niche and country was the site in out of interest?

if your kws link to an inner page, you could make a new page or pages targeting thous keywords and try 301 thous old pages to the new ones. then build link diversity/anchor diversity to thous new pages.

if your main domain is whats ranking. buy an aged brandable domain, prefarble ninche related.fiill with content and backlink this one right. also keep working on first domain. if first doesnt recover 301 tp new site. if first does recover now you have 2 sites in your niche banking.
