Help - someone is re-selling my eBook

So I found a website that is reselling my eBook.
These bastards actually directly copied my description and everything...

What can I do?

umm , check their host and if its in USA i guess you can contact them and tell they are selling copyrighted material without permission. That would probably be a start

This guy has 100% stolen my eBook and is re-selling it for $10 MORE than I ask on DP.
I just talked to someone that bought it... and its 100% verbatim.

1. The sales pitch is mine, verbatim.. it's literally just copied from my DP thread.

2. I emailed the guy, got it and read the book, I'm looking at it now. They did nothing to it other than remove my name. It's absolutely without a doubt mine.

lolz, skumbags... i normally find a well worded letter with lots of big words does the trick.. throw around lots of legal terms. even make out you are a solicitor.. i did this to some prick who accused me of shill bidding on ebay, he was gunna report me (and his suspitions where right) but i wrote a letter so good that i got a written apology off the guy. oh how i laughed

First of all, did you register the copyright of your book? If so, you gan go after statutary damages (aka big bucks) without having to prove that you have lost any money on the deal. If not, the most you can claim is actual damages, which would amount to the money you would have made if you had sold those books rather than him. That's probably not worth it.

The best you can do in that case is file a DMCA claim with his ISP - they will probably have a page somewhere telling you how to do this, if not, google the requirements for a DMCA claim - and that will get his site taken down. In the mean time register the copyright, so if the guy pops up on a new web site you can go after statutary damages.

If you feel it would be profitable, sue.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I suppose just getting the site to come down would do it for me. Although I know for a fact this guy has been selling it since someone I spoke with actually bought it there, lol...

Does it ruin my case if this guy is in India? That's the deal.
I did get his phone number though.

Post his site on ***** and someone will DDOS i bet. I don't advocate illegal things but he also stole your work. Make up a letter from a lawyer and send it to him. Try and get as much of his personal info as you can.
