Captions?

Do you think it is a good idea to use captions on your videos? Have any of you seen any noticeable effect on including them?

Persionaly I do, as I believe it slightly boost the seo rank and it adds a look of authority and quality to your videos!

Thanks for that. Currently I'm thinking of uploading music videos, but instead of having lyrics in the description, I could have them within the Captions. That would enhance user experience I think.

Use both, a long keyword targeted description is key IMO.

You could also post the lyrics to Pastebin and grab the "Raw" link and use that as one of your links in the description, titled "Lyrics". Just food for thought.

I don't see how that'd be possible, since you're simply linking to an outside source.

To be frank just use some captions like 1-2 captions are better other wise it will get bored by the visitor by watching your videos.

Well this is sort of what I am doing, but I link back to my own site where I put the lyrics so I might get some clicks on Ads etc.

Interesting perspective, but I think the visitor can turn on/off the captions. Also I think initially the captions are off, so the visitor needs to click the "CC" to see captions.
