Hi everyone,I need advice and tips on post penguin 2.0 update link building tactics. As this is a hot topic recently and a lot of buzz is going on. I need SEO link building tips after recent penguin 2.0 update.

The penguin hates more links.

here are just a few things:

1. original content is king,
Penguin 2.0 hates spun text, right now it's already a problem but it seems as though Google now has
a special software that checks for the spun articles on your site + for multi-topic spun backlinks and treats you accordingly.

2. social media is super important,
if your content is good, they believe that others want to know about it, so it's important to have facebook, twitter etc accounts....

3. if you build a website strive for the long run,
you simply can't just build thousand of links anymore, you need to have an seo strategy with different kinds of links - no-follow and do-follow, edu, wiki etc... and build them gradually...

too many web 2.0's no matter how good ie handmade and good content in back links are seen as spamy. focus on the website. update content weekly. good tags and all back to the basics for now at least. until new methods are figured out. The sites that i did no seo on in similar fields are way out ranking the great "white hat seo" ones. all the seo was handmade and "very white hat"

backlinks still counts, or at least thats what i am concluding so far. updating content on dialy base is very important also and in page seo, but it is not always possible and G cant force people upgrade everyday (business pages do not update everyday, they are only based on backlinks/referers and good in page seo) u think they dont deserve to rank up cuz of penguin? i dont think so sir. personally i dont trust what mat cutts says but some things he says make point.
lets say i am selling brand pens and i am not willing to launch new products at least for 3 years, i perfer to sell retro ones.
is there any need to update my site? NO because i have no new producst.
can google drop me because of that? NO because too many pen selling shops are refering to me and i have many niche related backlinks and very well spread.
it is not ONLY about backlinks and content. you need to check other factors also. there are some general advices and rules , but every site is different and it must be treated in different ways. try new things and experiment new ways so u have your own conclusions what is the best for your site. and dont forget social impact, it is very important those days.
cheers mate, hope it helped.

It's very complicated now... They analyze so many things... What more, they can penalize you now for something you did one year before (some links were good until now, but are not anymore).
It's very difficult and big old websites with history will come out victorious, as they have balanced link profiles with links built mostly by real people. It's a pity, but it's reality.

Just make sure your website provides good quality content and it is updated on a regular basis. As for link building, only go for good quality content and focus on unique, high quality backlinks from multiple platforms maintain an acceptable and natural looking link velocity.

So after updated to penguin 2.0 is it still supports link wheel or link pyramid?

comments not helping to raise ranking and all after update , dont waste time on commenting , get some quality backlinks is the only option left

Nah man. I have quality backlinks... Actually the only thing I've done wrong in Googles eyes is using spun content. That's got to be something that Penguin 2.0 is targeting.
