Hopefully we can all get shared rooms in the hotel, as it would be much funnier than sleeping separate, and different hotels!

Imho, IM is still in its very infancy.

This event will give the possibility to pave the way for much more (professional) structure to the community.

Not sure if anyone else asked but any way to organize something in EU as well ? Perhaps UK ? I missed a couple of meetups there. If official maybe more members will attend, meath did a great job organizing, we can have both conferences US/UK on the same date.

Whats the official opinion about this ? Thanks

Sorry, not true.

Getting a visa to the US is one of the hardest thing to get approval for.

It helps to have a lot of money in your bank account for a long period of time. Like someone else mentioned, strong ties to your home country helps and also recommendation letters from people in high government places and business circles.

If you get all that plus a invitation letter from someone well off in the US, your chances improve a whole lot. Also they want to know why exactly are you planning to come and do here, so you need some strong planning and documentation to show and state the purpose of your visit.

Obviously some countries have better probabilities than others.

I guess it is different for your country.
I know many many people that got visas without recommendation letters, or anything. You just need to tell them that you have a job and that you will go there for travel. It depends a lot about your country I guess. At least in South America and Eastern Europe you dont have to prove anything. Except that you have a job.

On B Visas (the ones that BHW members should get to travel to Nevada)

This is awesome, and if it ends up happening I'll definitely attend. Looking forward to seeing all you pasty buggers in person...
 
I'd love to go with this, but please make minimum age 18, by that time I'll still just be 20 :p
