It shouldn't be blacklisted in other countries, you'd need to trade it with a blacklisted one in another country or sell it to someone abroad. Either way its stolen, so be careful what you do.

Some of the people in this thread don't know what they're giving advice on. If it's blacklisted in the UK there is nothing you can do. Sell it to someone in Europe, that's your best bet. Though I doubt you will be getting ?450 back, you will probably get less.

Was she from the UK? I am unsure as you said you were not in the UK? If she was then as you say it is quite possible that she got the phone blacklisted herself. I once bought a second hand phone on eBay as a side phone and 3 months later it stopped working, apparently it was reported lost/stolen and claimed via insurance, go figure...

If that service actually works then you would be very lucky. I am unsure as to how they are planning to unblock your phone as a phone barred by o2 can only be unbarred by o2. On the other hand it is illegal to mess around with the IMEI number.
