Help me tweak the GF method ;)

The deal is my GF is pretty artistic and stuff. She made hundreds of paintings/drawings and photos of horses through her life. She is pretty non-profit though Im thinking if there is a way she could benefit from all that work:

Maybe... i should create a site with high quality prints for sale and hardcore SEO it? Do you know a company which will take high quality scans from us and handle customer relationship, printing, shipping and handling and payment?

What do you think of this idea, how would you tweak it?

deviantart has something like that, you need to buy a subscription, and you can sell prints of your art stuff, DA handles everything and you get some money for every sale.

It takes a while to get 'known' on DA, but it will be worth it if she's really good

yeah i know flickr/DA, im thinking of the advantages of having your own site, so i could SEO it for people who are not specifically looking to buy art, but are just interested in horses etc.

i Think its BIG competition on DA

deviantart.com is a good option since it already is an authority site. So if you seo her profile page & build links, then build a second site with a blog etc linking to that shop you probably will give her a nice popularity boost there.

Another option is to sell on ebay, there are some (in my opinion) really sucky anime painters selling a dozen paintings each month for 5k$+.

I'd recommend going to your local painting/art store, and have some of her best works featured there. I believe it's like $40-100 a month to be featured. You also create a pretty good looking site, and put some of her other art work there as well for sale. Once her name and artwork gets out, then the site would get visitors.

Then you cake it.

yeah she already does it, but im thinking if there is a company which will print and send this stuff, cause we dont want no hassle, i already know selling tangible things by yourself is too much work

the answer for tweaking your method is simple. You have her in a bkini in front of the paiinting showing it off, then put it up on an art site. Should definately work
