Too good to be true?

I recently purchased 4 Fiverr gigs to try to improve my rankings for 3 keywords. My site doesn't have a great domain, but is optimized for ranking and has a lot of good content.

About a week after ordering the gigs my site has gone from not even being indexed in the top 300 on google, to ranking from 12, 32, and 35 in a highly competitive niche, for those three keywords.

I'm sort of normal to SEO, but was that a little too easy? A brand new site up there that fast, there are about 400k monthly combined searches for those 3 keywords. Should I expect a penalty? Or is this just a temporary spike in page rank?

Yes I've been trying a lot of things to make sure I'm seeing the ranks correctly. But I'm getting mixed results. Many tools rank me similarly to the initial results I got, some are now even ranking me higher, some less.

Either way, for two of the keywords I'm certain I've made it on page 2 and 3 respectively. But the question is, will this be very short lived?

Yeah I wasn't expecting this result, I think it could be more of a curse than a blessing... Well I never thought I would be angry about the ranking power I received from Fiverr...
