When something is too good to be true, 99% of the time, it is in fact too good - and it's not true.

I think most of us are in the business of manipulating a persons psychology to some extent. This doesn't include cold blooded manipulation, but if you think about it, someone had to manipulate you to understand the concept of 2+2=4. It make sense to you because a very long time ago someone convinced you it was true.

Let's say you're selling something: You're selling something.
Isn't it your job to convince someone they're getting their money's worth?
Wouldn't your close rate be 100% if the offer is too good to be true?

We're all on here to make money.

Everyone of us is trying to get people to click, download, buy, share, etc... and some of us try to get each other to do it.

Even giveaways can be a wolf dressed as a sheep.

Fellas, I'm just trying to say, use your heads.

I've only been here for a short time. In that time, I've seen many small traps laid, and successfully laid.

"I've got air jordans, cheap and authentic" - always followed by "holy fuck, sign me up!"

"I'm looking for an ebay partner to take my paypal money for me, earn 15%" - dozens of replies like "send me a pm, I can do it"

"Insane giveaway, too good to be true" - I've seen a lot of these, and not just the most recent fiasco. Would you trust someone who would just giveaway something like backlinks? If the backlinks are shit, your site will suffer. I've taken advantage of giveaways from reputable members, and I've always been thankful and left honest reviews... but I always do my due diligence before I participate. Some guys do giveaways to steal methods, for example.

Usually what goes through my head -
  • Does this guy know what he's doing?
  • Could this hurt me?
  • What's in it for me?
  • What's in it for him?
  • What's the worst that could happen if it hurts me?

Before I start rambling..... :ranger:

you got it spot on when there is something flashy people reply saying hit me up my skype IS is so and so LOL

A lot of people need to pay notice to what Furious George is saying I see people everyday jumping on the free bandwagon with some people not even reading the thread through they just see "Free" and automatically reply saying im in! It really is something to think about, just because its free doesn't mean its valuable.

The one that always springs to mind....

Youtube views give-aways. So often I assume that the give-away is solely to gain niche ideas & video URL's of those who post. People will give up their secret for the equivalent of a couple of dollars.

Or maybe i'm just a cynical bastard....

"PM me your keyword and I'll tell you what's wrong with your website"

I will send you $5.99 dollars each and every time you send me $9.55. Please Pm me if you're interested :)

You mean like when someone says, hey I just bought a PR8 site for $ 50 ...... it's legit, :boobies:

hey I just bought a PR8 site
Haha, I rememebr that guy, I think he bought PR9 and he was like...WOW, please tell me what to do with such a great opportunity...when a poor fella realized that it is a fake PR he was about to cry :)

i got it done then. my close rate is 99.9% - 600+ 0 refunds in 3 yrs
or as a mod once said.

Based on the good reviews I was ready to buy but the guy wouldn't
take my money unless I was convinced that his service would benefit me.
I talked to him for almost an hour on Skype.

with a 99.9% close rate not much else i can do
the .1% was 2 people i threw out. so technically it is 100%

not to shabby for a guy with an attitude..
