Well, I was wondering if this could be seen as a credible idea. I know that you have "Sticky thread" options. It would seem as a nice idea if we also had this one. After all, when the replies in the thread become big, people often keep asking the same questions/stuff over and over again. Sometimes people post the same stuff even if the replies on the thread is a small quantity. Useful posts often get lost in the avalanche of replies. If we OPs only had an option to sticky useful posts, it would be really helpful to both us and the reader.
Just an idea :)

Every thread will be sticky because everyone thinks that their post is useful, even if it's not.
I don't support this idea.

Another case will be if there is a button like 'Vote to make sticky' and if the threds have let's say 30 voters, then to become sticky automatically.

Did you read it properly? I said sticky post not thread. Where the OP has the ability to sticky his own post or post made by someone else that he thinks is useful.

maybe a system like stackoverflow would be useful .

Ah, sorry! My false.
Then I can say your idea is good but again, only if other people sticky the post, not the OP.

It's okay mate. Just a little misunderstanding :)
That's also a good suggestion but then wouldn't everyone sticky their posts? It would seem better if people could vote on a post to be stickied. Your idea has merit :)

Making useful replies easier to find is a good idea but I think doing it with sticky posts would just get too cluttered. I've never seen a forum do this. I think a better option would be to let the OP edit forever to add useful info (currently the edit function goes away after a few days I believe).

Yeah I've experienced that too. Nowadays I have to approach a mod to edit my OP.
And maybe a maximum of 2-3 stickies per thread ought to reduce the cluttering.
Thanks for the suggestion :)
RW.

You cannot sticky a post that became big because the op posted a share that is password locked and most everyone has to reply "password please".
