Liberty reserve is dead

The website was not taken down, they seized the .com domain. Had the site been zml.ru then the U.S. government would not have been able to seize the domain, since .ru doesn't fall under us jurisdiction.

That is right..

The DNS is pointing to the sinkhole. Theoretically, if you can get the IP of LR server, and if their internal post requests do not depend on the domain name, it should be possible to retrieve the money.

do you remember e-gold? They are going to ask for verification and if not you have to file a claim.
I immediately stopped accepting them on my network.
We're gonna lose a few k which we'll have to make somewhere else.

No. I've never used e-gold.
But, reading a lot on other sites last night I believe there is no way we will get our money back. Though, I'm still have some hopes...

I have found big discussion on another forum. If someone lost a lot money, like me, maybe you will find it interesting:

So does anybody have or remember the IP address of LR, to see if it can be accessed independent of a domain? Or, is there a non .com domain LR also uses to operate from?

54.243.99.59 but its not working or i dont know how to acces it.

This is one of the sinkhole IP numbers, it belongs to Amazon. Need to find some site that keeps statistics of the domain->server assoc, and look few months/year back.

What about epassporte I've heard of lots of people that lost $10,000 or more and still haven't gotten any money back after nearly 3 years.

It wasn't ONLY money laundering! Drug dealers were using LR to sell their supply, child porn sites were using LR with the owner fully aware...

Good work LR , F*** U
I had some funds there too..

Bank of America has laundered money for drug cartels and even terrorist organizations, yet they get a small fine compared to their profits, and LR gets nearly shut down.

Drug dealers and child porn sites use Internet as well, shall we close it too?

That's just stupid talk. This guy knowingly allowed child porn sites to use LR, PayPal however much annoying they are would not allow it. Also, your comparison is just utter stupid.

I will try to elaborate. The drug dealers and the child porn activists use the same resources, we, normal people, use. For example:
- they breathe the same air
- they eat to survive
- they drink water
- they use cash
- and so on and so on

If you cut them of the food along with everyone else, they will die and the problem solved. See, there is an easy but stupid solution. You dont make cash illegal to punish drug dealers also, because its as stupid as the previous solution. Hope you see where I'm headed...

At one time the ISP's had a policy where they would allow people to distrubute child porn, and wouldn't say anything about it, but if they forgot to pay the bill they then turned them over. For example if 1 million of comcasts users were involved in downloading and uploading child porn, they would lose tens of millions of dollars if they either cut them off or reported them to the police.

Except you're going to have to trade your LR funds for real money. :) Good luck with that one.
