UPDATE: A few methods have been posted lately that I have been looking into. The results I saw, I liked. Here they are.

Yes, these methods work. I still use one from my original post and I have been using one from the latest post I made. I've tested these methods on my personal websites/bloggers/blogs/etc and I have seen a return.
