Hello,
I am a complete newbie at IM i don't know nothing of websites or whatsoever although i have some experience in social marketing.

This project is be a bit different of other projects in this forum because i do have a stable income already (professional poker player) of 2-10 k € a month.

So i do have time to do this ( 5+hours a day), I love the internet and everything it has to do with it.
I know what you have to do to be good at something and i wont stop till i get what i want.
I will learn as much as i can as quickly as i can, because when my other income is gone I think this is what i want to build my new income on.

I started readying blackhat a week ago and im amazed how much can people earn with hard work and IM knowledge.
I will start with a website where i will post articles etc.. i think this will be a good start. I have selected a food/fitness niche since thats what im passionate about. I know this is a very competitive niche but this is a learning project not a profit one. Every dollar i make will be a huge motivation boost ofc.

I will post 7day goals of what i have to learn and put it into practice. Any links/articles on that theme will be very much appreciated. On my website i will use money only for something you members will recommend me to use for that it is not worth learning.
I haven't decided yet if i will pay for articles on my site or i will write them myself. I am very weak at English so this would be a very good starting point to learn how to write better. My page will suffer for this but knowledge is the most important thing right now.

I will set 7 day goals and update them after 7 days set new ones etc.. If i finish my goals before the 7 days i will update them the day i finished and write new ones for the next 7 days.

goals for this week : (big update on 17th)
- Buy a domain name on the selected niche
- learn how to operate a site
- learn basics of wordpress

Let the journey begin and lets start some IM!

I have bought a domain name and a hosting that i got for 0.83 a month with mail and everything.
First i need to know how to set up a page from scratch i don't even know how to come to my administration panel. :D
I have read about themes yesterday and i was informed that its not worth of buying one so i just picked up a " fake " one don't know how its said.. I just have to learn how to put it on my site.
so the first goal - buy a domain name done
Does anyone have some info of the best really basic stuff learning material .. how to put on his first site ? if not i will just youtube the first one and go with that.

So far : -21$

You are a noobie.. don't know how to do shit.. low post count.. new member.. AND
you didn't ask how to be spoonfed, you didn't ask for a 23456$/day method or quick 100$.

Instead you made a journey thread and set goals in front of you.

You my friend are a model of what a real person who wishes to succeed should look like and act as.
CONGRATULATIONS! Honestly! ..

All the other noobs should take you as an example.

Thank you.
I have a quick question if someone has the time to answer. I have bought the domain on goddady and the hosting on a hosting whatever site.. i have read some tutorials on how to connect the two so i can start building the site.
I clicked on goddady > setnameservers > i have a hosting account with these domains
I think i failed at this one and it says i have to wait 2-48 hours. Was this the right path to go ? because on the tutorials it said about name servers that i had to input etc.. i asked my server hosting support about this but i might get here a more user friendly answer.
So how do i link the hosting and domain on godaddy ?
Thank you very much

What hosting do you have? hostgator?
ill help you out if i can.

and yeah... good luck pal :)

Thanks

I have We love servers hosting ( dont know if its permitted on the forum to talk direct names of websites and stuff please let me know if not so i delete it? ) its just the first i have clicked and it was cheap i was said by a friend that it doesn't really matter which i choose so.. :)

Well basically just go to godaddy...Domains,nameservers, set nameservers for your domain.
Look for name server from your hosting and just type that in godaddy. and you should be fine...it takes up to 24 hours.
Since you said you made some mistakes...before doing it again..clear cache and cookies in your browser.
After that you should be fine.

Let me know ;)

I am pretty much stuck again.. I installed WordPress to my site with filezilla, got my nulled theme and everything but when i wanted to sign in to my wp-login i did not know which password i have to use so i just reset the password. Here is the problem i don't get the mail on the hosting mail i created. I can log-in the mail but i just didn't get the password reset (for 2 hours now).
So i am stuck and asking if there is any other way to do this ? maybe change the email since this one does not work but i don't understand why it shouldn't ..any ideas ? i have been trying to solve this for hours but im at a dead end

EDIT: got in after trying all my passwords i have ever used but still didn't get my mail so this is something i have to look in

I have spent around 10 hours now on the sites hosting admin made a MySQL base, installed WordPress, made my own new mail .. so now i think i know the very basics of how a web page operates.
So my second goal done
I will see how much time it takes to learn the basics of WordPress, but i think i will be ahead of schedule this week.

One thing i have learned on IM so far : The little things can take hours to fix. I guess my self control prevents me to tilt about this things .. i cant wait when a really big problem comes my way.

Nice, your achieving your goals fast, wish you the best of luck with the journey! :)

hello,
I have made all my 3 goals ! 1 day before i said i would do it so.. good job

- Buy a domain name on the selected niche done
- learn how to operate a site done
- learn basics of WordPress done

I have bought a domain name on the selected niche. I went with godaddy.
I spent a lot of hours reading through the forum about sites.. hosting etc.. installed WordPress etc.. all the basic stuff.
I installed a theme on WordPress, made a header and some basic stuff like this.. I learned the basics but i have way more to learn about WordPress. BUT i need an article first so this are my next goals. I leave for a road trip on Friday for a week or so so this time my goals will be set on a longer period of time.
The first 3 goals i set last week seem pretty easy for you guys but i had to spend a lot of hours to make it work. I don't regret a minute and I am even more motivated than a week ago.

next goals till 26.4 (10days)

- Learn about keyword research ( how to rank 1st in Google) , Search for a long tail keyword for my first article (a very non-competitive keyword)
- Write the first optimized article and post it on my page
- Put the first picture on my page and optimize it properly
- Improve WordPress skills

I think this are realistic goals for about 4 days of work. What do you guys think ?
If you have some links about what to look for about keyword research ( i need to know how to see if a keyword is competitive or i can make on the first page etc.. ) i would be eternally grateful .

Over & out

P.S I went with the heatmap theme i think its a good start

wow its been so long since i wrote in this project.
I will continue my goals from this moment on since i had some problems on my daily job i could not focus on this project like i hoped i would. But everything is well now and i am fully motivated again. I posted a problem in the other part of the forum but i will post the problem again here:

When i install a theme my page on the domain goes blank / a white page. I can edit it and everything on my admin panel but the direct link does not work. I tried different themes but neither one of them works. The only one that does work is the standard one which comes by default.
Do you have any suggestions what should i do ? I have no clue what is wrong.

Finally my first site ever online is up and running ! (without content yet)
It took me more than a month but i had a hack load of work on my primary job ..which is going very very well.. I learned a ton of stuff on IM already and i can see the picture now on how the money online is made.
The first problem i have to fix is : learn 1 thing at a time.
I have just loaded my head with information about IM .. I just have not had a line to follow. If i had stick to the first plan i would be way ahead now in terms of things learned.
So my plan now is :
- Learn keywords ( how to look for them, what programs to buy etc.. )
- Search for the first keyword and ask someone if it was a good pick .

Page visitors : 0
Spent $ : ~50$

I just reached another learning goal.
I have learned how to search for keywords. ( i used scrapebox, adwordskeytool, seomoz) I have trial version in most programs.
I have found 6 long tail keywords on my niche and ordered 6x 500 words articles to see where will i rank.

If i will see a potential in the IM business in the next months i will start spending some real money on projects. I am thinking of a 5k$ budget but still a long way till there. Mainly link building articles and stuff like that. (Dont know nothing about links yet :o)

Next goals :
- Learn how to post the articles on the page when they arrive.
- Learn how to optimize pictures on the page
- Make a logo on the page

Page visitors : 0
Spent ~80$

Nice journey bro, i'll be following. Maybe i'll learn something too by the way.
Good luck.

Just had a thought: are you, or is anyone, concerned about ordering articles for carefully targeted keywords? I mean, the article writer might know the value of the words and work on their own site. Has this happened to anyone?

Anyway, I'm enjoying reading your journey. Good luck and congrats on all the poker success. I never had the bottle to risk more than a few $$, so that's all i won!

Usually most writers have their hands full with writing, although I've never thought of that before...
Your going to make us all paranoid lol :)
