Whis is this site a PR4??

I'm purchasing a PR4 finance site and I want to know why the hell it's a PR4. Don't get me wrong I'm obviously happy with that, but it doesn't make sense to me.

Domain was registered in 2008...It's a directory site to different financial institutions and each listing contains no content except basic contact info and a 100 word description...It only has backlinks from 8 different domains and none of these domains are anything crazy or even recognizable for that matter...nothing has been added to the site for 5 years, absolutely nothing...The only traffic going through the site is about 50 unique visitors per month accessing some online banking login page.

Majestic SEO and a few other things I tried all said that the pagerank is valid. What could be giving this site a PR4?

Usually when I have to question the page rank to this extent, I already know it's a huge red flag. No quality backlinks mean the PR was faked or the good backlink was dropped so run from this deal. Pagerank means nothing unless your finance site carries authority and has quality backlinks pointing to itself.

OK read carefully my english is not that good.

Frist, that website have some backlinks? how many? less than 100 big alert... check the page rank of those backlinks if your website is PR4 you need: some PR4 backlinks, couple of PR5 and maybe a PR6... if that is not true then its fake.

how fake? you can use 302 redirect to transfer the PR from a real website with high PR to any website.

e.g: if you redirect a brand new domain to facebook.com that domain will be PR9 in the next PR update and then you remove the 302 redirect and you have a clean FAKE PR9 domain.

go to web.archive.org , put the url of the site and check if there are some 302 redirect in past months or years if you notice one then you will know how that domain have PR4.

I just check the 8 sites linking in. 2 of the sites are PR5 and 1 of them is a PR6 but the others are all PR0.

If the link of your domain is on the actual PR5 and PR6 links, it is valid.
