Advice for Ebay Newby ?

Hi all,

I am a brand "newby" to Ebay...and have been looking at different courses, websites on learning Ebay. I notice they want a lot of money.

I thought maybe a book (or a website) on learning the basics FIRST would be smart.

Can someone Recommend a Book or Site?

You need to stop posting and start reading the section you posted in. Start from the 1st page. Good luck - Do not read about Stealth yet, you need to know the basics first. Knowing is not enough, start applying what you learn.

I appreciate the advice...but you're being "idomatic"...(don't you think?).

I was looking for a book or article or website (that focusing on teaching a step-by-step process).

Not trying to be a Smart Arse...but think about what you are saying. Jumping from one post to the next....without knowing WTH ppl are talking about is not the fast way to learn.

Books on how to sell on ebay are a rip off. It's ridiculous.

Just sell on ebay now and learn the basics. No one is going to show you how to find products. You need to find products with enough mark up to turn a profit, that's it.

Don't buy ebay stealth. All of the information found in that book can found on the internet for free. Plus, you will only need it if you're suspended. It might be a good read in the future, maybe. But there are lots of more updated products for that.

Don't spend money for ebooks ,just google it ,or register on ebay ,and go to ebay forum and you can talk to actual sellers or buyers on ebay .But you need to open account first ,also open paypal at same time too ,you will need it .Is not point start on ebay with stealth account ,if you want sell regular stuff ,like a books ,computer parts , e.t.c

There are some users on BHW who have mentioned a step-by-step process. Like above mentioned, no one will tell you the actual secrets of the market because no one likes to invite themselves competition. The secrets or actual way of making $$ you'll learn yourself by actually surfing eBay, selling on it. Talking to people, building connections etc.. Some things you can't learn by reading. eBooks etc.. are all a big joke, they just compile the information already easily accessible over the internet to make money for themselves. Most of these eBooks are available free on the internet.

To learn the newbie basics, you should go to eBay help. They are a company and they have a very neat help section to guide users on basics.

got to be patient. can't make a lot of money right away. paypal will limit you, ebay will limit you... all takes time

ebooks wont help much. you will have to spend some time on ebay by checking what others are selling and how...
Start selling some things for free so that you can get some feedback as well as experience in selling. Good luck!

Terapeak is actually very good to find a good niche to sell in.

Use Terapeak, ebay Pulse, and look at sold listings in your niche(or allover like i do). Look closely at what successful eBay sellers are doing. The people who consistently sell a product for more than market value are good people to study. Also don't take information from the sold listings section to seriously because the information is wrong a lot and some sales are flukes or mistakes that might have been refunded. Only feedback for a sale can really confirm a sale actually happened. You should just start doing it while taking breaks to read. eBay itself has forums and help sections that noobs need to read.
