how much you take from the customer when you create them a simple website (wordpress) to their business?
I want to start build business websites service ,it will be nice to get tips from you guys :)

On average I would be charging about 300$ for a simple website if you want your sales to roll on.

Oh really?
so much luck you telling me that i wanted to charge 50-100$ for a site:target: wait its including domain and host?

Charge him ~$25/month to host it [:

fuckk i thought just about to give him affiliate link to the host (host gator or something) but your idea is amazing thanks man, although its little bit scary he will find out that making money on him from the host.
more tips please :D

If your client webmaster - sure, if he's dantist - no lol .

great man,and when you build for them sites , you buy theme or just use something free or download from bhw?

Charge according to what they charge to their clients/customers. A lawyer will make a lot more money per client than a Landscaper would.

Also their location affects pricing, you can charge $1000's in NYC but only $100's in New Mexico.

Also please don't undercharge for the sake of getting a client, I know turning away any money is hard but trust me when I say cheap clients are not what you want.

In any case, for a simple site you can realistically charge $399 to $1000 depending on the business.

Good luck.

actually i'm a programmer but i don't think i need to write any code for these website

Buy a reseller account at Hostgator and as mentioned above, charge a monthly hosting fee, $150-$300 for site building, offer and charge for a Google places setup, heck you can run a SEO campaign and charge for that, the list goes on and on.

Yepp.. $250 - $350 if doing freelance, and $500-$750 if doing as a company.

Like carlikito said, don't undercharge just to get the job, particularly if you know what you're doing. I build Wordpress sites starting at $1200, charge $1500 for most and over $2000 for some. I use premium templates, but I also do a good bit of customization sometimes, add lots of pages for SEO and often use stock photos.

If you want to make a bit of recurring income, get a VPS and charge for hosting on it. You get a few accounts on it and it's paid for, then the rest is profit. A client isn't going to usually get mad at you for charging more than what you pay for something, particularly if they see a value in letting you handle things they don't really know about.

I usually charge $750 - $1000 for simple wordpress sites with minor customization. But that's not where the real money is, the real money is in getting them to purchase your marketing services after the site has been built.

Reseller is a good idea thanks guys, also i can buy the baby plan in hostgator and to host sites with this plan.
and when you see marketing service you mean SEO?

I'm with Rougemont. I'm a developer for my day job, and anymore it's not worth my time to do it for less than $3,000 site. It will take a while to get up to that rate though. You'll have to build your credibility and really sell them on the value. They're not getting a website, they're making an investment to build better brand recognition, customer/client interaction, and create a steady form of leads. Sure, it's expensive, but let them know they'll pay for themselves.

A lot goes into those sites though. Heatmaps(click maps), A/B testing, all that jazz.

I was now working on my affiliate websites, but they are not making sufficient amount of money to be a full time income. However, my CSS and wordpress skill has not increased a lot. I can even make responsive websites. So to make some short term cash, I was thinking about providing webdesign services. Do you think $200 is a reasonable price for a simple Wordpress site? I could offer some upsell like logo service etc.

I plan to drive traffic through PPC from search engines.

Will you be using a ThemeForest theme or building from scratch? For that price I solidly don't recommend building one from scratch.

If that was reaction to my post, yes, I was thinking about building one from scratch. The main reason is that I need the theme localised to a non-englsh language.
